  1. I hated statistics. It's really not that hard, just a pain in the butt.
  2. Northampton Community College (Bethlehem, PA)- ADN program. Class of 2014 (God willing)

My uniform is really not bad at all. Navy blue snap front scrub top with the school name embroidered on the chest. White lab coat with same embroidering. Any style white scrub pants and white shoes and hose. I was so afraid that we'd be stuck with the all white, stiff, tapered nightmares that seem to appeal to the instructors or whoever it is that picks the uniforms out. It's a far cry from the cute scrubs I wear for my job but it could be do much worse.
  4. I'm definitely going to miss reading (for fun)! I'm also going to miss working normal hours at my job. I'm going to be cramming 36 hours of work into the 3 days I have off from school. I do believe I'll make time for a nap here and there because: if I don't take a nap the nap takes me :-) I really am ready to get on with it already.
  5. I really don't think any of that would cause you to be denied a license. A criminal record on the other hand... I've suffered from anxiety and depression for years and am medicated. It's never presented me with an employment problem yet. Good luck :-)
  6. I was going to do the LPN program at first, then I realized that I wouldn't meet the deadline for that particular year and by the next deadline I could finish all of my RN prerequisites. I've also been a CNA for longer than I'd care to mention lol.
  7. I think you should first take some general education courses at your community college. Get a few of those under your belt. Personally, I opted to go directly for my ADN. I've spent the last year and a half taking gen ed courses though and i'm just starting nursing school next month. Whatever your decision, good luck!
  8. I'm starting in the fall as well! Congrats on acceptance and GOOD LUCK!!!
  9. I'm finally starting nursing school in the fall as well. I've heard all the horror stories and I'm apprehensive but looking forward to it. There is a huge weight on my shoulders to succeed as I'm turning 30 this year and the future of my family really depends on me advancing in my career. While I'm enjoying my summer off from classes, I'm just about ready to jump back into student life. I plan to take it one day at a time and give it my best effort. The way I see it, if I wasn't smart I wouldn't have been accepted into the program in the first place. These programs are competitive! It's not going to be easy, but it's going to be worth it! Good luck everyone!
