  1. Hi Kelsey: Thanks for the information. I have been anxiously awaiting to hear back from them, and was at least pleased to see in the FAQ section we would be notified either way. Now I am disappointed to hear that is not the case....they really should update their information. Oh well... on to more job hunting for us. Best of luck And thanks again for posting this.
  2. Just wanted to share my experience that the trick DOES work!! I unfortunately failed the exam my first time, I came home feeling defeated but tried to remain optimistic while trying the trick and got the bad pop up. I retested last week feeling 100x more confident.... tried the trick and got the good pop up. Today, I paid for quick results to see PASS, and just recently my license number is on the Board of Nursing site. The trick works! And quick results are accurate. TIP: You do have to put in your credit card and hit submit before you get a pop up, so I used a prepaid Visa with insufficient funds. (When I tried this card and had failed, it said Card declined. I used the same card this time, and got the good pop up message!!!) Good Luck to all.
  3. 1st semester down of an accelerated BSN Program and I survived and am fairly happy. Pathophysiology kicked my butt a bit however. Patho: C+ Nursing Fundamentals & Clinical: A Mental Health Nursing & Clinical: A- Health Assessment: B Was striving for Deans List, but since Patho got the better of my I will be happy with my 3.4 Cheers to all for a relaxing break and happy holidays!!
  4. Hey Margotrita! Yes this is what I ended up taking I found the class both interesting and quite easy! Don't spend much on a book, get an old edition if you can. I didn't touch the book once. Everything you need for the quizzes is on the power points. I took it over the summer so it was shorter and crammed in a bit more than spring semester, and still never found it too time consuming at all. Basically you will have a weekly discussion posting, a quiz every other week and I think just one paper. Paper is actually a quite fun and easy paper. Good luck - I think you will find it doesn't take more than a couple hours a week (& a bit lore for the paper).
  5. I chose Belmont. If you have any questions shoot me a PM I will be happy to help.
  6. Basically my advice is that you need to try to find a bit more study time be that evenings or weekends. I found myself averaging 24 hours of study time per module for my 16 week on-line AP class in order to earn an A. (An A in AP1, and carrying a solid A in AP 2 now with only my Final to go). First of all, online classes can be tougher - you have to teach yourself!! Secondly, you are taking one of the hardest classes out there in an Accelerated fashion. AND ON-LINE I would suggest a study schedule (which you seem to have) that puts in 40 hours per week. I know this sounds like a lot, but may be what you need and essentially if you are putting in 30+ hours - - - this means 1 extra hour per day! The good news is - it will be over before you know it. Stay Strong and Good Luck. And to the poster taking a 5 week version - AHHHHHH GOOD LUCK to you!! Is this your only class?
  7. Hey all future Nashville area nurses, has anyone had to take Abnormal Psych as a prereq. ? If so, where did you take it? I am Starting an accelerated BSN Program this August and have just abnormal Psych and Religion as prereqs. To finish this summer. I went to register yesterday and discovered the community college I have taken all my prereqs. at does not offer Abnormal Psych. So I am frantically searching for another (affordable) option in the Nashville area or online. Thanks Kindly in advance.
  8. Thanks everyone. Much appreciated!! I am looking forward to this class. Starting an accelerated BSN Program this August and have just abnormal Psych and Religion as prereqs. To finish this summer. I went to register yesterday and discovered the community college I have taken all my prereqs. at does not offer Abnormal Psych. So I am frantically searching for another (affordable) option. Appreciate all of your input.
  9. Hey Tinker thanks for posting about the MedCap loan I am going to look into it.
  10. Best of luck at MTSU Mr. FutureDNP we will miss you at Belmont come fall!
  11. Anyone take Abnormal Psych online and be willing to share where? Thanks in advance.
  12. Great. Thanks! I will look forward to that, as I am going to be a fellow Bruin. Paying my deposit tomorrow. I'm so excited!!
  13. Hey DCM! Thanks and Congratulations on your decision. I am about 90% sure I am also going to be a Bruin. My final decision will be made In the next few days. I tried to find the group on Facebook and unfortunately only found 2012 ???? I'd love to join in.
  14. Tinker you are so kind. Thanks much!!! There are so many small pros and cons in the programs... and you are right ---at the end of the day I will get an excellent education. I definitely do not think there is a wrong decision... maybe it is just truly sitting down and over evaluating some things to hopefully make the best decision. Thanks again and will certainly keep y'all posted.
  15. Thanks SopranoKris, were you able to obtain actual information from hospitals on their opinions of the programs? Or was this just insight you were somehow personally privy to. I actually think this is great advice and have already considered it to be honest... I am just not sure how to obtain that particular information. Becca: Thank-you as well for your thoughts. They both have outstanding NCLEX pass rates, but I certainly appreciate your thoughts.
  16. I am a 33 year old changing careers from Corporate America and pursuing an Accelerated BSN degree. I have been accepted into both my top 2 choice programs... and honestly having a difficult time deciding which to choose? So I ask of you all --- how did you decide what school was right for you? What factors went into the decision? Thanks in advance!
  17. Hi. I am usually posting in the TN Nursing School area vs. this area, but was hoping maybe I could get some advice from actual working TN Nurses and not just students. I have been accepted to both Belmont and Union's Accelerated BSN Programs. So I ask of you how much does School matter when trying to get hired? What is the general reputation of graduates from either program? Any general thoughts on either program? I will further say that I think Belmont is my first choice, however it will cost $20-25k more than Union...and I am trying to decide ultimately if Belmont is "worth it." I have to make this decision within the next few weeks and am feeling a bit overwhelmed. So I thank you in advance for your thoughts and insights!!!
  18. Hey Girls: I was originally wait listed to Belmont's Accelerated BSN, but found out last week I was accepted. Now I have a huge decision to make between Belmont and Union..... I am thrilled that I ultimately get to make the decision, but at the time I am feeling super overwhelmed!!!
  19. Hey DMC911. Any word from Creighton yet? And/or decisions made? I have been accepted into Belmont and still debating my final decision! Belmont is my first choice, but is at least 20k more than my second choice.... and I just don't know what to do. :/ Definitely interested in keeping in touch if we both decide to be a Bruin!!
  20. Congrats TPayne on the MSN acceptance AND the engagement too!! Parrisht: Congrats to you - I also was accepted into Union's Program in Hendersonville. Where are you from?
  21. Here is a link to the academic calendar for Union U. if you are interested. (Again, just to confirm for our program it could be different, but I don't think so). http://www.uu.edu/catalogue/pdfs/1314calendar.pdf
  22. Tinker, yes it was the Adult Student Application for Financial Assistance Form. Honestly, I have no idea if it is required, but I stumbled across it on Union's Financial Aid section of the website and it was listed as the first step... so I thought well OK then I guess I better complete this and submit it. And I know nothing more than this.... Guess it is just wait and see ) At least we all have each other to bounce ideas and thoughts of, instead of us all being alone in the dark. GeorgiaPeach: I think classes start August 20. I only think this because I looked up Union's Academic Calendar. I think our schedule coincides with the rest of the school, but I do not know this for sure. I think we are supposed to have an orientation in June or July right? And no idea on CPR cert, but think I may have heard this is due before clinicals so I am kinda thinking may not be required until Jan. 14 session starts, but again I am not confident on that. And honestly I think I should tackle any of those type of misc. this summer before the August session even starts. I know it will be easy in comparison to what all of 2014 will bring us, but with Patho and Pharm and up to 18 credit hours I certainly do not anticipate it reflection a walk in the park either.
  23. Hey Tinker: I am of no help on this financial aid situation. I completely oblivious to how this all works.... haha. I didn't even file a FASFA for my undergrad. Anyway, as of now I have filed my FASFA and sent in the form to Union for Financial Aid and will simply wait for my Award Letter to see what I might need to do next. I have some 401k money I am going to tap into to essentially cover my Tuition, but then there is also Living Expenses. I am hoping to cover my needs with Stafford Loans only and not have to take a private loan as well... BUT I guess I will see what happens in the coming months. Does anyone know how long it might take to receive the financial aid package from Union? I noticed that my deposit confirmation letter stated they would now work on preparing it. But am guessing it will still be 4-8 weeks. Just curious if anyone knew. Thanks
