Hi there NY nurses! I need some advice. I lived in Chicago the last few years going to school there for the Radiographic Sciences, to be one of the x-ray guys who always wake your patients to get a CXR! I always liked nursing though and I applied for that along with Xray but I got into Xray first so I thought I'd pursue that. It seems it was a bad idea though because I cannot (since graduating in May) seem to get a job anywhere. It's very discouraging. Anyway, come September, I'm gonna do the NY Methodist program for MRI but I'm fearful about the job market when I get out. I actually have shadowed doctors and nurses and created a course for Chinese students on skills needed for CNA so they can better their lives in the health industry. I need help though because I would like to go back and pursue a career in nursing. It seems like there are lots more jobs in that industry and it's a lot more rewarding as well. Something I didn't think about much when I was younger. Would anyone on this board know of any New York City schools for nursing that are not that expensive since I just finished a program and can't find a job? Also, I'm thinking about CNA now as well because the course I wrote was in conjunction with a 12 week course in Chicago that provided a great start for it's students or people interested in nursing. Any programs for CNA that anyone can recommend that are short and once again, not too expensive? Thanks, I know this is not a very specific email but I moved back to Brooklyn to take care of my grandma who is ill and I don't want to move back to Chicago, yet my funds are limited.
