  1. I bought myself an XM system about a year ago and I love it!! I bought one for my husband's truck this past Christmas and he really enjoys his-- he drives an hour to work one way... I could never go back to plain old FM radio now!! :chuckle
  2. That's why we have more than one shift: to pick up where the other leaves off!! On our unit, we sign the patient in, get vitals, settle them in with whatever they need.. but no, we do not stay over and admit patients. Now occasionally, if it's been an ok day and we have time to jump in and one or two of us do it, we will. But we have an understanding that we do not have to. It is a courtesy. Not expected.
  3. I see this is somewhat of an old topic, but I'll reply anyway: at our facility, baths are labeled as a dayshift job. We have 5 nurses for 22 patients and 2 CNA's. They cannot possibly do all of those baths, or that's all they would get done. When a patient is requiring incontinent care routinely thru the night, it should not take that much longer to just give the complete bath. I don't see it really as an issue of convenience for the day shift. It is a matter of giving good patient care. Every little bit helps.
