  1. Are you applying to med surg positions as well? You might have a better shot than the highly competitive ICU/CCU floors. I know 3 ADN friends who are currently in the THR residency at different hospitals. One in PCU and the other 2 on med surg. It IS possible. Keep checking their website for openings because people decline at the last minute and they just want to get the spots filled. Good luck!! :)
  2. I would love to hear from nurses currently or recently working at Parkland and what your thoughts are on working there? I recently interviewed for a RN I position (not a residency) and got a very strong vibe that I would be offered the position. My profile now says "offer in progress" so I would love to hear first hand from some staff and nurses about what they think of Parkland. I was told the training would be only 3 weeks on the floor with another nurse, which kinda scares me. Also, the position is for dayshift but in the interview they said they would hire me to be on nights until December when a dayshift nurse leaves. Parkland is known for its diversity and for being very busy; do you feel like the training you got at Parkland was enough, and the staff have each others back? How are the benefits? Is there hospital training as well as floor training? Thanks in advance!!
  3. I feel your frustration!!!! I came across that same problem as a LVN in RN school. I was TOO qualified for PCT positions. My suggestions then would be to A- look into Nurse Extern positions, most of the major hospitals have those positions and will consider you, or B- work as a LVN for one of the major hospital clinics (Baylor, Methodist, parkland, jps, childrens, cook) they all have clinics that hire LVN and a lot of them have PT or PRN which would work with your schedule. Once you graduate you can then apply to transfer into the hospital, or any RN job they will allow you in to get that 6 months of "experience" first. That's just my personal experience and what I ended up doing.
  4. I strongly suggest getting your foot in the door (tech, sitter, secretary) at a hospital you would like to work at after graduation. You can then transfer to a RN role. Many hospitals are requiring BSN and it's only getting stronger.
  5. A classmate of mine has a friend who's affidavit was complete on 5/9 and they got their ATT & scheduled their exam yesterday. Bgraham89- any email yet???
  6. My affidavit of graduation is completed now. Just waiting for ATT I guess!!
  7. I would love to know as well!! Please update when you get your ATT I also graduated on 5/11 but am still waiting for my AOG to be completed, UGH. A co worker of mine got her all clear on the BON website today so she is also waiting for her ATT now.
  8. Seems like almost all positions have been filled. Anyone still waiting to interview with THR?
  9. If that's truly the case, then all my applications are filled. The only ones I had left were at unit in Dallas guess it wasn't meant to be!
  10. I feel like the longer it's in review the more likely I'm not chosen for an interview.
  11. My high risk OB still says in review
  12. Oh ok I see, well that's awesome you are going for your NP! I hope you hear from MCP!! But at the same time the UTSW job is probably a amazing opportunity as well. Ugh, that's a tough one!!
  13. A couple Dallas jobs in review, SICU and high risk OB but they have been like that a few days so if I haven't got a email yet then I won't hold my breath. Seems like they are contacting those they want to interview. Do do you have any bites at other facilities?
  14. I would contact the recruiter you have been in touch with for the first 2 interviews. You can word it as a follow up email- "thank you again for the opportunity, I am looking forward to hearing from you regarding the position", or word it flat out asking about the email you received and confirmation that your no longer being considered. You should get your answer. The reason I say to contact them is because I had a interview once that seemed to go very well and was told by the hiring mgr that I would hear something Monday (it was a Thursday) and the next day I got a automated rejection email. Like you, I was pretty surprised but figured I was not chosen and accepted a alternate position elsewhere. Well, guess what? I got a call Monday, like I was told, offering me the position I really wanted. The automated email was sent in error. It happens.
  15. My high risk OB Dallas just went into review. I've noticed a lot of postions filled already. Ya never know when you will get a random call or email though!
  16. I got asked for a interview on Neuro Trauma ICU at another facility, after completing a video interview. Has anyone had a second interview and if so what was it like? What kinds of questions?
  17. Sorry, I only meant SICU would be a great unit. I wish I had info on that hospital in particular. However, I'm doing my CCU ICU clinical at Methodist Dallas now and I love it!! no updates here, a lot of "filled" spots so it seems like they are moving along. I'm down to a handful of positions that either say "in process" or "considering".
  18. Yay!!!! Now your really going to be watching your phone lol. How exciting!! What a great unit!
  19. Have they started contacting people for interviews? My Dallas apps say considering as well, like they haven't even looked.
  20. Lol yup! So I applied again
  21. Do yours still say considering like mine do? Lol get this, I get a rejection today from float pool ft worth and then when I looked today for any new positions added guess what's posted?? Float pool ft worth
  22. I would absolutely contact the recruiter and tell them what you just said. There's nothing wrong with letting them know the other interview was your first choice, and your wanting to know your status there before accepting the second choice position. Good luck and I hope you land the unit you wanted!!
  23. I agree. Or "move on loser" At this point I'll take any sort of update.
  24. Ft worth resource pool says "filled" now, other than that no changes. I think they are doing their interviews already cuz the positions are starting to be filled.
  25. Got a rejection from antepartum Fort Worth, although my status says "filled". At this point I'm just happy to get updates so I know to move on....
