I've wanted to be a nurse ever since I can remember. I received my BSN in May, and my first day of work was in June. I was extremely excited about starting my new career. However, when I got to the floor (med/surg), I was given 5 patients and an admit in the middle of the night. No one was there to help. They had their own problems. I was FREAKING out. The only nursing exp. I had was in school. (I had been an aide for 4 yrs.) Anyways, I think I was traumatized. It hasn't been as bad since my supervisor found out, but I dread going to work each night. All I can think about on my off days is how much I don't want to go to work. It's only been 2 months. Will it ever get better? I'm not sure if I want to be a nurse anymore. Sorry so whiny, just wondering if anyone else has been through the same situation?
