  1. All he would say is that I was leaning too far forward.
  2. So I guess the only thing I can do is tons of squats until i can do it? I could lift it directly off the floor, walk around with it, take it off the shelf and put it on the shelf, but for some reason i couldn't lift it the way he wanted me to. Maybe I was misunderstanding what he was saying. What I was gathering from what he was saying, he wanted me to squat directly above the box, arms straight down, and then lift with my legs. It just felt weird to me.
  3. Hi everyone I'm a little discouraged today. I had an offer at a magnet hospital on the condition that I passed the physical. I lifted the box which had two handles and weights inside off of the floor fine when lifting from the bottom handle, but for some reason when he asked me to lift from the top handle, (mind you he did not want me squatting all the way to the floor, just squatting until I could reach the top handle) he said I wasn't doing that part properly and I lost my job offer. I came home and told my dad about it (he's a bodybuilder) and he said the way that he was asking me to lift the box was not safe anyway. Anybody have any tips to do better and actually pass the test if I have to do it again????
  4. Thanks I will look into that. :)
  5. Hi Everyone. I'm a new graduate (May 2012 got license in July) and I need help landing a job. I've gotten 6 interviews, 2 phone interviews, 4 in person, but no job offer. I don't have any CNA experience and in order to be able to completely focus on school, I did not have a job while I was in school. Obviously I don't have much to put on a resume. I put my clinicals and the job that I had before I went to school there and my license and CPR certification. Plus I think my ethnic name could be holding me back a little bit. Help!!! I've tried hospitals, nursing homes, and doctors offices. I feel like I'm a loser and no one wants me. I've stayed up all night crying about this for months and I feel like by the time I do finally get a job I'll practically forget everything I've learned!
  6. Thanks!! I always thought my name was too ghetto. lol I did have one instructor tell me to move to California, but there's just no way I could move that far with absolutely no family around. I really want to stay in Greenville because I have a 90 year old great grandmother that I want to spend as much time as possible with while she's here. Plus I'm a big baby and I need my mommy and daddy to spoil me. LOL I could barely handle being 2 hours away from home in school! lol
  7. My email is shakerrialw@gmail. I just have the clinicals we did in school which is I think is about 3 months in each area. Not much I believe. I didn't have a job in school so I guess that is what's really hindering me.
  8. I'm in Greenville SC. One interview was in person and I was super nervous. I arrived super early, wore my nicest suit with closed toe heels. I think that my confidence and nervousness really showed with that tone. The second interview was a phone interview. I thought it went better than the in person one because I had already gotten the first interview jitters out and prepared a little more than the first one. I don't really know what to add to my resume since I didn't have a job during school. I have my clinicals and volunteer experience on there though.
  9. Hi everyone, I graduated from nursing school in may got my license in July and still have yet to find a job. I had two interviews in July, but did not get either job. No one else has responded since. I have spent everyday looking and applying. I am really starting to get frustrated and disappointed. I feel like I'm not good enough. How am I supposed to get the experience they want if no one will hire me? I see all of the other girls I went to school with getting jobs left and right and here I am sitting like a bump on a log. I moved back home after school and my student loans start up in December. Things are very tight for my parents and I don't want to be a burden on them. I really want to be able to help them out. I've been stressed, unable to sleep and on the verge of tears every time I look at an application or another email saying I didn't get the job. I'm seriously thinking about applying to jobs at the mall and other places. Thanks for your help, Shakerria P.S: just wondering...I know there's nothing I can do about it anyway....but do you think my name could be partially why I'm not getting the jobs? I keep getting "manager not interested"

  11. Hi! I took the nclex yesterday at 2:00 and I ran into an old friend today at the store and she told me about this trick. I know it may be too early, but it didn't let me go to the credit card part. I saw some people say that the pop up was saying that they previously passed. Mine said "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your Member Board for further assistance. Another exam cannot be scheduled at this time." Does this mean that I didn't pass??? Does it mean that I have to be patient and wait longer??? AAAAAHHHH THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!!!
