Looking for a FNP or APRN for clinicals
Hello, My name is Lisa DeBrier and I am from Southern California (Riverside, CA). I am a student at Gonzaga University in their Masters of Science program-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Track. Beginning Fall 2014, I will be starting my clinicals for Advanced Health Assessment. I am searching for a FNP or APRN who will be willing to precept me for 60 hours in order to complete this requirement. I have completed nearly all of the MSN core courses and will complete the required core courses over the summer. I am unrestricted to complete the clinical component this Fall 2014 beginning with Advanced Health Assessment. My clinical rotation will start approximately October 6, 2014 and will end around the end of November.. Being that the semester is so far off, I won't know the exact days until I get closer to actually registering for the course; however, since Gonzaga University may not be affiliated where you work, I have to begin early to locate and secure preceptors in order to get all necessary paperwork and affiliation agreements completed. Please note: I am willing to drive to facilities/offices outside of Riverside--so if you work anywhere in the Inland Empire or outside of it, please contact me. If you are able and willing to accommodate my request, kindly contact me here at this site or in a private message. I would greatly appreciate ANY help so that I can complete this part of my education. Thank You!

University of South Alabama-anyone from California apply there?
hi julee, i have not heard anything from our brn which i find ridiculous. i will most likely call again and insist on speaking with someone. i left a message last week plus i emailed there and no one bothered to get back to me to answer my simple question. it should not be this way but it is like jumping through hoops to get this question answered. i am also looking at gonzaga university in spokane, washington. i know of someone who lives in valencia, ca who is a student there. as far as i know with the online programs, you do most classes online and your clinicals bnear your home and you have to do a few classes on the campus but it is over a weekend. i would have pm'd you but it would not allow me to do this here as it said something about having to do 15 posts or something of that nature. in any case i will let you know when i hear something from the brn. lisa

University of South Alabama-anyone from California apply there?
hello all, this is my first post and i am hoping some of you have some news about what i am needing to know. i live in southern california and i would like to apply to university of south alabama; i have emailed for info about the program and i was told this: "you also need to inquire at your state board of nursing if they will accept your training as an np through an on-line program out of state if you reside outside of alabama. some states such as new york do not allow for this or have stipulations for approval first." i called the state board and my call was sent to a voicemail of someone who "could help me." as of yet, i have heard nothing back from them. one could grow old and die waiting to hear back from them. i am currently in a pmhnp program but need to transfer to another program and i don;t want to wait around forever. can someone here who is from california and has been in their program let me know about this? i don't want to apply to a program only to find out later on that i can't take the ancc exam. thanks in advance lisa
