Taking the leap to travel nursing
Hi fellow nurses. I have over 3 years of ER nursing experience in NY, where patient ratios average about 10 and more(!!!). I have been interested in travel nursing for some time, and need some advice on taking the leap into travel nursing. Some of my concerns- finding a good hospital, working with staff when they know you are a "traveler", finding and working with the "right" recruiter, moving to a different area. The process seems overwhelming, and from what I've been reading, it seems that most people say it's worth it and the unknowns seem to be a risk you take when travel nursing. I want to have a positive first experience, in order to set the tone for the future. I am currently interested in California- (Is it the patient ratio real in the California ER's or is it more of a suggested ratio number). Any advice, tips, agency or hospital recommendations would be appreciated :)

Past HRSA scholarship recipients
Hello. If you have won the HRSA Nursing Scholarship in the past, can you share your experiences with finding and now working in an approved facility. I am particularly interested if you could recommend hospitals or health centers in New York State or East coast region. I am starting to think about my future commitment and would like to know if it was easy to find work in a approved facilities and how your experiences are. ALSO on the more general side, if recipients can provide ANY information about this program, not just the job aspect it is more than welcome and deeply appreciated. Thank you in advance!

NYU BSN Fall 2012
Congrats to those admitted NYU Fall 2012 program! Can any past graduates or alumni share some experiences and advice on whether to attend NYU. While I would enjoy the opportunity to go, the expensive tuition is making me think about starting school a few months later at an affordable public school.
