  1. Our tentative date of deployment would be on April 5th. I will be going straight to North Carolina (Charlotte) where their office is located. They will provide us with a housing but in my case, I have a family who will be coming over, I would get an apartment for us. Honestly I don't have any idea how much is the rent of a 1-bedroom apartment in NC. We do not even have relatives or friends there. If we could afford it, I plan to apply for licensure by myself. By the way, I already have a Visa Screen Certificate. I received it months after I passed the last english exam I took.
  2. I will be under contract with them for 3 years. They will be the one to apply for the licensure for us when we get there so I guess they'll make us work as a low-paying nursing aid while waiting for the exam.
  3. amen to that! :yeahthat:
  4. Hi! So nice to get a reply from someone who's also from the Philippines. :) May I ask if your friend took the NCLEX in the US? In my case, I still have to take it there which means that I have to work as a CNA for a while. The salary they offered me as a CNA is only $7.28/hr. My family will be joining me 2-3 months after I leave. How are we gonna survive with that salary? I got sort of desperate that I thought about having my contract bought-out. Hey, thanks for the info. Hope to hear from you again. :thankya:
  5. Hi. I actually registered for this site hoping to be able to get help/info regarding my case. I am from the Philippines and a RN at my native country. I have signed an employment agreement with TravMed USA a year ago. I have a visa screen certificate and an immigrant visa already and am ready to go to the US. The thing is, TravMed hasn't called any of us yet for deployment. So please, if you have info regarding this company, let me know. I would really appreciate it. Big thanks to all!
  6. I am from the Philippines. Yes, I have already passed the TOEFL and TSE examinations and I have with me an original copy of my Visa Screen Certificate. Thank you for taking time to respond.
  7. Where could I find the International Forum?
  8. I've been issued an immigrant visa already which would expire soon. Unfortunately, I have signed already an employment agreement with TravMed. When I arrive in the States, I will be working as a nursing aid while I will wait fro the Stateboard exam date. In the agreement it is stated that I receive $7.28/hr as a nursing aid. How can we live through that salary? Anyway thanks for taking time to read/ reply this post. :)
  9. Hi y'all! Has anyone heard of TravMed USA? I am from the Philippines and I have signed a contract with TravMed USA. I have already been issued my visa and am now patiently waiting for the schedule of our deployment. What bothers me is that they do not contact us (nurses) directly by phone or e-mail. They only leave a word for us through our local agency. They did not bother to inform me if they have sent my Stateboard application. I still have to take the Stateboard unlike other Filipino nurses who has been sponsored to take the Stateboard in Saipan by their American employers. I would be very glad to hear from you. Thanks.
  10. Thanks for your reply. I do not know where my assignment will be. TRAVMED just provides nurses to hospitals, clinics, etc.. Where could I find that agency segment?
  11. I'm from the Philippines and I am about to go to America for work. I have signed a contract with TRAVMED U.S.A. I do not know anyone in America who works at TRAVMED so I really don't have a clue of what to expect from my employer. Please share your opinions to me. I am new to this site and I am really looking forward to getting answers to my questions. Thanks.
