The facility I work at does things a little different during meal time we have 2 CNAs that stay out of the dining room to catch lights and anything like that, so if we have someone who needs to be cleaned up we have a PCA go find either one of them and they will clean them no matter whose patient they are. It's a good set up bc meals move alot faster and no one is feeding and cleaning at the same time.
I just finished my CNA class and will be testing in a couple weeks. I currently work in LTC as a PCA, but since I have been working there I realize that I want to do acute care. I have been looking at current jobs at the hospitals around and they all say what unit you would be working...but I'm not sure what each unit really is and what I might encounter there. Can someone explain the basic different units to me? Thank you for your help.
I'm currently in the process of getting my CNA just waiting for the exam. Once I get settled into a job I want to start school for my LVN. I always see the 1 year programs that they show on TV. When I go to look for a job will it matter where I got my license from? If it does, I currently live in San Antonio, TX where would be a good option for me?
