I used to be one of a nursing students in West Coast University in Los Angeles Area a year ago. Due to my family and health problem I got dismissed from West coast. I appealed my dismissal and I got denied. I was so hurt emotionally, and in bad economy financially, so desperately tried to find a way to get back to school again. I saw the executive director and asked for his wise help he told me "provide some improvements that I can show the community your progressions". I couldn't provide him anything in a short time. He said may you can appeal your grade and I did, but no chance on appealing grade. I left with no hope and losing of thousands of Dollars. After a while I thought why should I cry I should get help to get back on my feet. During my dismissal situation from West Coast University last year I decided not to lose my faith. I have tried my best to make improvements in my weak areas because I have dreamed of becoming a nurse. I value the profession and I am determined to be an outstanding member. Even though my life has taken a few twists and turns, I have never lost my strong desire to spend my life caring for people, to make a difference in their lives, to be a nurse. As I studied the new version of the 2012-2013 catalogs on their website I became so happy that I still have a chance to follow my dream in West Coast University as a BSN student again. I've noticed there is a section that meets my need as follows: "Reinstatement Process for Students with No Appeal or Denied Appeals" A year ago I got academically dismissed for not making satisfactory progress, and I know in order to qualify for reinstatement, I must provide documentation that the issues that led me to dismissal have been resolved. During this past year, I got my nursing assistant and home health certificate after completing CNA (160 Hrs) and HHA (40 Hrs) and I've passed seventeen units at two semesters in a College. I applied for associate degree in Social Behavioral and Science in a College, and they've already evaluated my transcript and it will take some time for processing documentation. After that, hopefully I will be graduated on March 2013. I hired a private English professional for my reading and writing to work on my English professions, and even took some therapy session with a skilled therapist who helped me find ways to deal with stress in my life and taught me skills to manage my anxiety and stressful situations. So, I made these changes to improve and focus more on my studies.I tried to found out if I still have the chance because I heard they do accept student in my situation after one semester and reinstate them again. But my bad luck in West Coast is continuing Mr. executive send me letter that: "I'm afraid that I don't have the news you are seeking. You have exhausted the appeals processes at WCU during your dismissal, both inappealing to have our grade changed and in appealing to be reinstated. That decision was final." which I do not understand his writing. this is my right to study there after one year passed more than one semester. I think he is prejudiced and doesn't want me to continue my education there. I need your help if anyone has any suggestion about my problem. should I hire any attorney for this matter or not?? Please help me with your advice..
