NCLEX Test, 75 questions cut off
I Took the NCLEX RN today-was shut down after 75. I say shut down because I actually would rather have kept going. I was scoring 65-70 on the Kapplan tests, and scored well above the 50th percentile nationally on the ATI, but I feel like I was fed a big dose of NCLEX humble pie. I am so very confused because I had 6-10 "multiple answer" questions, including the last 2 Does anyone know if those are considered more difficult or easy? To me they are the hardest, and I know for a fact that I got at least the last one wrong, maybe even the last two...My hope is that maybe these were 2 of the 15 they will throw out..confused: Does anyone have a story like mine with an ending to it, or have any idea how to interpret what happened? I can handle the truth, if anyone wants to deal it. I have to wait 2 weeks for results because my school was slow about getting transcripts to the BRN:scrying: BTW-thanks for the positive vibe around here-this is truly the place for me to expend my obsesive compulsive energy.:pumpiron:

Are majority of Q's priority type questions if you pass the nclex
Certainly will keep you posted, especially if I hear anything that pertains to what you're trying to accomplish. Yeah, I hope the BSN works to my advantage in some way. Has it worked to yours? Or do you just sort of get thrown in with the ASN group? It seems some jobs prefer the BSN, particularly large hospitals like Good Samaritan, and big companies like kaiser. Is that true for you? Also, are you planning to continue your education? I got really excited about getting into an MSN nurse-anesthetist program later down the road. It seemed cool and looks like it pays well. However, in So-Cal alone I hear there are 3000 looking for a job and only 300 positions available. Its hard to get paid if you can't find the work. Looking ahead, what would be some options you might choose if you were to continue on and obtain your MSN? The reason I'm asking is because I'm only taking 2 classes this semester, so I was thinking about getting the GMAT out of the way so I can maybe do an online MSN program down the road while I work. However, its hard to be motivated to study for that bad boy if I don't have a reason to get the MSN. Have you heard of any male nurse-practitioners? It seems they can do pretty much the same thing a Physicians Assistant can do, but I haven't heard of any males in the field and I'm really not trying to break any molds, at least not right now. Take care and be well.

Are majority of Q's priority type questions if you pass the nclex
Hey Peaceful. It's the husband. Guess my wife and I need to get separate accounts soon, huh? Anyway, there are lots of psych. places to work at in Los Angeles County. In fact, the per diem rate at L.A. Metropolitan hospital was $38.00/hr when I was working as a marketer over there 2 1/2 years ago. I know most of the hospitals pretty well from my work in the community, so let me know if you need additional info. My wife works at another hospital where the compensation is less, but the working environment is good. There are also several other psychiatric hospitals in the area, and they always need nurses. So the last year of the BSN is hard? That means it's safe to assume that the last 6 months of my program will be especially hard, because I'm going into a 1 year accelerated program. UUGH.

anyone taken NCLEX in CA recently?
I took the test on a Wednesday, and found my name on the BRN website at 2am that Saturday morning. Before then it wasn't there, so plan on the computer listing your name sometime in the middle of the night when it reboots, etc. Best wishes.

Are majority of Q's priority type questions if you pass the nclex
Thank you for your help. I took the test Wednesday and found out Saturday at around 2am via the BON website that I passed! :rotfl: You were right!! I've been working as an lvn at a psychiatric hospital for the past 6 years, and I probably will remain there for awhile at least until my husband finishes his 1 year BSN program. Then I'll explore other options-I'd like to get in with the county or state because I heard they have great benefits. What do you do?

Are majority of Q's priority type questions if you pass the nclex
I just took the nclex on Wednesday 1/5/05 and finished in 90 questions. I was wondering if anyone who passed remembers about what percentage of the questions they had were priority type questions? Less than half of mine were, so I'm wondering if that means anything? Also, my last two questions were priority questions. Is this a sign? Thank you. I'm really nervous cuz I just have no clue if I passed or not.

anyone taken NCLEX in CA recently?
Hello Jepjep, I would also like to know if anyone know for certain how long until CBN posts your nclex results on the website? My wife took it this past Wednesday (1/5/05) and I think I am more nervous than she is about her results. We are checking this website daily: http://www2.dca.ca.gov/pls/wllpub/wllqryna$lcev2.startup?p_qte_code=RN&p_qte_pgm_code=7800 because we heard that we will be able to find out in about 4 days (not including weekends-so hopefully on Monday or Tuesday. Just go to the website and put your info in there. Hopefully, after 4 days, we'll find out she passed cuz her name will be there, and you'll find out you passed cuz your name will be there too :) :) . Let me know what you find out, jepjep. I am not looking forward to the day that I will be taking this test myself
