  1. Hi all, is there a "term" for a technique where in the dr essentially mounts the mother's abdomen, and uses her knees and hands to force the baby out? My daughter pushed for 2.5 hours with the head turtling, had a fever, and at some point the baby's heart rate dropped. moments later, the doctor was on top of my daughter with her knees into my daughters abdomen (her hands just in front of her knees). it was successful, but she had a uterine rupture, and a lady partsl laceration which took 20 minutes to control the bleeding. I've never seen such a manuever, but I've only had two of my own relativey easy deliveries, and just curious if this procedure has a name, and in what circumstances or point in time it is executed. BTW - baby is fine, mama is fine. 8.7 lbs and sunny side up.
