29 applications in and still no job!!!
And I haven't yet found ANY places close by that I can walk in and talk to a human. Well, except I did find a nursing home today in my local city that said to bring the resume in person. I'm going there tomorrow.

29 applications in and still no job!!!
I'm in Colorado and have started to apply in California after seeing how many places are hiring. I could get a CA license by endorsement. Are they even hiring new grads with no paid experience? I have some really great experience after doing 9 mos in medical ICU and excellent references from my preceptors.

29 applications in and still no job!!!
and so, after these 100's of applications in many states, you guys did get jobs, right?

29 applications in and still no job!!!
Thank you all for your input. It helps to know I'm not really out of the ordinary here. Maybe it's the pressure from the hubby. He thinks I'm not trying. So in addition to continuing to put in 3-4 applications a day, I also made an appt with a counselor.

29 applications in and still no job!!!
I am serious in that many of those I went to nursing school with got interviews and got hired with less than 10 applications submitted. So actually your example is encouraging in a perverse way! I am starting to look out of my local area and take some of the other suggestions that I've heard.

29 applications in and still no job!!!
I graduated a few months back, passed NCLex last month on my first try, had good grades and excellent references but little job history as I was a stay at home mom for most of my adult life. I've now put in 29 applications and haven't even gotten a call for an interview!!! I'm not sure what to think but this is getting to be discouraging and my husband is losing patience with being the only support for the family. SIGH

NCLEX in 3 days!
I passed!! At least I'm pretty sure I did. The PVT wouldn't let me reregister. The test shut off at 75 (after 3 hours!!) and the questions were REALLY hard. The first two were standard multiple choice but I must have got them right cause the next one was SATA, along with the majority after that. I swear, 6-7 out of every 10 were SATA!! But I just consistantly and slowly worked through them, treating each option like a T or F. I also got 2 case study type questions but I'm thinking they are the harder rated ones? I personally preferred them way more than SATA, since they are so much more real world type of critical thinking. Anyways.. just sooooo stinkin glad I'm done with all this!!! Good luck to all of you and let the job hunting begin!!

NCLEX in 3 days!
But you still passed after getting no sleep?? Woot woot!! Good for you! I actually couldn't sleep at all last night from nerves so we'll see, maybe I will get all this out of my system by tomorrow night and be ready for a good nights rest? I can hope right? Anyways, I'm just focusing now on reviewing meds and neumonics. I will stay in touch and let everyone know

NCLEX in 3 days!
thanks ladies.. I'm trying to just take a step back and not let the nerves overwhelm like they were yesterday. I've studied hard and got through nursing school for heavens sake!

NCLEX in 3 days!
I felt pretty confident up until today. I've been crying off and on. What the heck?? Maybe it's just nerves. I went to the gym and that helped and have been able to focus a little more. Still reviewing meds and trying to memorize the last few labs that I'm fuzzy on. I plan on studying all day tomorrow and then taking Monday off while we travel across the state to the testing site. I'm hoping I won't be too nervous to sleep Monday night as my test is at 8am. It helps to read what others have felt like as they faced this "test of a lifetime".
