  1. Thanks alot everyone. Not all nurses have stressful jobs. A lot of plastic surgery and out patient surgery centers hire RN'S to take out ivs, take vital signs and pass out juice boxes. That's it. Also some nursing homes hire RN's for the sole purpose of passing meds and nothing really much else. I was going to pass nursing but I had a bad instructor for the practicum, If that hadn't happend I would have passed. Oh,well.
  2. There are literally no good high paying jobs besides nursing. I realize that now.
  3. I took it 2 years ago
  4. I didn't like nursing the first time I tried it but I realize that there are no other jobs that will pay as much as nursing. At least not entry level, has any one failed nursing and went back in it? Also nursing is really flexible, no other job offers that. Do I have to retake the teas?
  5. Thanks! I am sure she will pass the nclex in October.
  6. I meant nursery nursing, sorry I put nicu.
  7. No my mom doesn't speak english very well but in Miami there is mostly spanish.
  8. My mom is 50, I don't think she can really handle a med surg job. I just think she needs a slower paced job in a not too busy part of the hospital.
  9. 'my mom didnt pass it the first time. She has to retake it.
  10. Is it hard to find jobs in the nicu or nursery right away? They seem to be the easiest jobs in the hospital. Is there anything difficult about them?
  11. My mom is freakin out! She took the NCLEX this morning and she only did 199 questions but she ran out of time so the test stopped. Does this mean she automatically failed? She went to many NCLEX reviews and she said the NCLEX was nothing like the reviews she took ( KAPLAN and Pearson) She also studied Saunders book.
  12. In life, we all have to make a living. Lets say I love to sing and I want to become a rock star. Only VERY few people make it as rock stars. We all need to eat and shelter
  13. I kive in florida. I asked a nurse at clinicals how much starting rate is
  14. this sounds bleak my mother is taking her nclex next week. I hope she will find a job
