One more important thing that I found out is that if you mailed a personal check, they will cash it a week to ten days before issuing you a license so if you see it show up on your bank statement but you do not yet have a number on the website, don't panic! Good luck to you all!

I took my nclex feb 6, received my results feb 21, mailed my fees feb 21 and received my license number on the website today. I still do not have a physical license but I should have it within a week.

Got my license number on the website today! Will let everyone know when I get the physical copy but it looks like the entire process took roughly 5 weeks from the day that they received my application. Good luck to everyone!

Jobs are available around San Diego for experienced LVN's so I would not be concerned about finding a job, however, the licensing department is ridiculous and can take up to 8 weeks, yes 8, or more to process your license application and tender you a license number, so get your application in the mail ASAP. I don't know how quick they are about temporary permits through the mail but I do know you can drive to Sacramento and get one same day. Good luck!

There is nothing wrong with Roswell; however, if you like the hustle and bustle of a big city, you probably won't like it. Compared to Las Angeles, it is very small and quiet, but if you don't mind that, it is very nice. No one can tell you what to do. If you are hoping to change your surroundings, then New Mexico is a good bet, but if you are just looking for any old job, then you have to determine if you are ok with living there or not. Yes I recently got the full number of questions and passed. The number of questions is irrelevant as the computer will give you as many or as few as is necessary to determine your acuity. In other words, do not stress over the number because it is 50/50 no matter which way you look at it. Have you tried the pop up trick? Worked for me. Good luck!

I sent mine on feb 18th via priority and they received it in the feb 25th. Still nothing yet but I will let you know when I have mine.

Just tell the truth. No one wants or needs to have dishonest nurses (not referring to you). If they are dishonest and cutting corners now, they will later. Besides, you need to learn to take charge of uncomfortable situations now while you are in school before you are faced with them in your career, which you will be.

The best thing you can do, if you have time, is to get your cna license and either work or volunteer through school. One or two days per week will be more than enough. Good luck to you!

I am currently in a nursing program within the state of california and will be taking my nclex at the end of this year. My problem is that once I have completed the program, my husband and I will be moving out of state (most likely to minnestoa but possibly to colorado). California LVN/LPN programs do not include IV certification within their programs. If I try to transfer my license from California to a state that requires IV certification, will I encounter a problem? Also, would it be better to take my IV certification course in california or would it be best to wait until I have moved to another state? My other dilemma is whether to take the NCLEX in California or to take it in the state that my husband and I decide to move to. Any information would be grately appreciated! Thanks!
