  1. Accepted into Richmond campus with 134!!!!
  2. The TEAS wasn't too bad except for the Science section. I couldn't get that down. I hadn't taken a chemistry class before and it has been 12 years since I have been in school. I ended up having a 78% with having 64% on my science section.
  3. Personally thought psych assignments were easy but did not do so well on the midterm or final exam. I did the online class and wonder if I would have felt the same way if I would have taken the class in person. I did not actually start enjoying the class until the last half when we got to the disorders and treatments. Maybe that helped some. I always thought too much into the questions also, lol! Also, can waiting for the letter be any longer! GEEZ
  4. It was the Lawrence Campus
  5. I haven't seen anyone at all even mention the Richmond campus yet. It is so odd not doing any homework which also makes it worse on the waiting game. I hate not knowing what my future holds!! I hope my 134 is good enough for RN! All the nurses and doctors I work with keep asking me how much longer I have to wait before I know. LOL
  6. Yes, an actual ivy tech forum is what I was talking about. LOL
  7. Hi, I read on older posts that there was an Ivy Tech forum that people posted on about letters and their scores from the TEAS and application... do you guys know what the site is because I cannot find an Ivy Tech Forum.
  8. My final grades haven't been posted yet! What the heck!?
  9. My weeks used to seem to go quickly but now that I'm waiting on the letter it seems that days or even hours are slowly passing by. The suspense is a killer!😱
  10. Well, finished up the semester today with disappointment! I really wanted an A in Psych so that it would boost my points to get into RN program, but I ended up have a B instead! Now my points are only going to be 134.18 instead of the 139 I was hoping for. I am a little freaked out that I really screwed up. My final exam was horrible and bumped me down 4%.... anyone know if I still have a chance in their opinion?
  11. I scored 78.7% on the TEAS and have 2 Prereqs with A's and still finishing up Psych. I hope to get an A in that class too. If I do, my points will be 139.18, but if I get a B (I am borderline right now) my score will be 134.18 instead. Science portion of the Teas killed me. I applied to Richmond Ivy Tech for RN and LPN. . .
  12. This really makes me nervous because I did not hit the 80 or above benchmark and I only applied to one campus. I did apply for both LPN and RN, but I really want the RN program. I cannot go by one day without worrying about what the fall brings!
  13. I applied for 1 campus by mistake and meant to apply to others but it is too late now. I have a Teas V score of 78.7% and still need to finish my Psych class to add to the points. I have As in the other classes for the required ones and hope to have an A in Psych when I finish in May. The total points I am guessing I will have is 137.7. I applied to Richmond Campus and I am so nervous that it is not a good enough score. A girl in my A&P2 class has 82% on her Teas. Hopefully others will reply to this thread and we can have a guess of what is going on.
  14. I just totally messed up! I thought when we wrote in what areas we wanted to apply to that meant it would just go into the Ivy Tech system to each school I selected. I was just told today by the secretary in that office that I was supposed to take an application to each individual school. Apparently, I only applied to 1 school (Richmond) and not the other 2 I wanted to apply to. AND I handed in my 2nd score from Teas V and asked that secretary if I needed to change anything on my application since I retested and she said no that she would take care of it. I just read my email from the person in charge of applications and she had told me before that if I decided to retest she would give me back my application because the date would have to change for when I tested or otherwise there would be a discrepancy. I am totally scared that everything on my application is messed up and I just took my chances from possibility to none... I applied with 3 A's (finishing one prereq this semester) and 78.8 on my Teas V test. If I get an A in my last class it gives me 138.7 total points. I was really hoping to apply to Muncie, Richmond, Anderson. Anyone have a problem like this where the application might be messed up? Did you guys really have to take your application to each school you wanted to apply to?
  15. Just retook my Teas exam today and received a 78.7% on it. It was not much of a change from my 73.3% on the first try but I at least went from proficient to advanced.
  16. Hi, I just took my TEAS V test yesterday and was told by the person in LRC that I should not have to retake my test with the score I had. The score was 73.3% and ranked 74. I am not even sure how I should not have to retest with that score because of the scores I have been seen on this forum. My score seems low to apply. I am trying to talk with nursing office to see if I can retest even though I turned my application in yesterday with the score I had but I just don't feel like it is good enough. . . so hopefully I can retest and get my score up. I have had all A's so far and just waiting for my PSYCH score this semester. I am applying to Ivy Tech Richmond, Anderson, Muncie. How has everyone else done?

  18. Hi All! I finally got my job offer and my official wage amount which is more than I expected for the area I live. Today, I received my email with all the necessary paperwork to fill out and bring in. Thursday I have my Physical and Drug Screen. I was curious on what exactly is going to happen during the Physical (this is for a Unit Clerk position) and if this is something you usually get paid for during the time you are there because it sounds like it will be about 2 hours or so with doing the Physical, drug screen, and HR department? I am also getting my picture taken for the badge. I am so excited for this even if it is just a PRN position at the moment and all I can do is hope they have a full-time/part-time with guaranteed hours open up. I want to be able to quit my current at home Transcription job and start working at the hospital full-time. Thank you all for your help. I hope to become a great unit clerk and not the kind nurses do not like :)
  19. Hi everyone! This site has some great information and you all sound like you help a lot. I just received word that I got the "Unit Support Representative" position, aka unit clerk, and just had to wait on HR department to finalize everything. Anyone here know what they have to finalize and does this mean at some point I may not get the job after all? The RN (nurse manager also) was the one who interviewed me and who decides who she wants to hire on, luckily she said I am the person she wants. She said she would call me back once the HR finalizes things and also gets a base pay for me. Also, is the base pay negotiable? I know what the other hospitals pay around here for unit clerks (they actually say it on the website unlike the hospital I applied to) and was not sure if I should negotiate if it is lower than the other hospitals. I am so excited for this because I have been waiting to start a career at our local hospital and after going to school for Medical Transcription and working for 1-1/2 years now, I finally got an interview at our hospital which has never happened before. I was told because I have medical terminology knowledge, that gave me the real edge and that I will fit in with their current unit clerks also. I will be a PRN unit clerk and hopefully they will eventually move me up to part-time or full-time eventually. So far, I was told I would not have many hours at all but I am looking at this as getting my foot in the door because I have heard once you are in you are set to move up. Our hospital rarely hires for anything besides doctors or RNs (which I would love to go to school in the near future for) and I cannot miss this opportunity. Any help from you all would be great! Also, do you think since I have been a Medical Transcriptionist I will learn this position quickly? I also have 7 years experience of Reception work. Thanks again, Katie
