The PVT works! I just got my Quick Results and I passed NCLEX-RN! WooHoo!!!!

Took NCLEX-RN last week, waiting for the 48 hour Quick Results. In the meantime, I tried the trick. I put in my CC info. And when I hit submit, I got the GOOD pop-up saying "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time." And I was NOT charged. It made me feel a little better but I will know for sure tomorrow! Remember everyone, Pearson changed the "trick" in August of last year. EVERYONE will get to the CC screen. You then have to put in your info and if it doesn't accept it, supposedly you passed, if it does charge your CC, then unfortunately, you failed.

Hey everyone. I sent an email to ask about when to wear uniforms during our first week. This was their response... You should be in uniform the first week. You have a professional communications lab on either Sept 3rd or 4th. Wear your uniform on the day you attend professional communications lab and on your clinical day.

I went to school here, was born here. But titer showed I wasn't immune and I had the vaccine. So doctor gave me a booster and have to recheck in a month.

I had the Hep B series done about 4-5 years ago. My doctor did a titer and it showed the I was not vaccinated. With the Hep B vaccine, sometimes it does not work.

I think they have everyone coming in every 15 min. I think it's set up as separate stations, so it's a one-on-one consultation. I think. Finally got my packet today. I thought I had all my vaccinations done but see they added Meningcocccal. So back to the doctor! LOL! One question, the health forms have to be turned in by August 16th, but if you're redoing a series of vaccines, they won't be completed by that time (like Hep B where the third dose is 6 months after the first). So do we have them write in the anticipated date???

Thought I would have received my OP today but nothing. Maybe they're going in alphabetical order? LOL! :)

Has everyone received their Orientation Packets??? If the "second group" was mailed out Wednesday or even Thursday, we should have received them today???

Thanks. I knew I'd need a physical and had one a few weeks ago. Also took care of all my vaccinations. So would just need to drop off the paperwork at my dr's office. :) Now, just need to do everything else. Lol.

Checked the mail today and no OP yet. For those that have received it already, can you tell us the date of the Orientation? I have classes in June and July, and would like to know if I'll need to make arrangements to miss a class to attend the orientation.

Vivinursingstudent: Thank you for the info... It was very helpful... I did have one question, does anyone know when the actual orientation day is planned? Will it be soon? Or in August?

Wendyf: The first semester, I believe, is only 3 days a week. The second semester starts 4 days a week.

I know someone who is in the program now and instead of lecture being a full day, this past year they tried it two half days instead. Not sure if they will continue that for us in the Fall or go back to one full day a week.

Anyone who requested evenings most likely got it, for just got an email saying there are still 6 more evening seats.

Hi everyone. Just FYI, I had to call BHSN today and happen to ask them when the orientation packets were going out. She told me they are hoping to have them sent out in the next couple of weeks. :)

After I accepted the offer and sent in my deposit, my status changed from Applicant to Student. There are a bunch of tabs that you will use throughout school, like class registration, tuition, etc. But there is nothing there now because it's still too early.

Nee1202: I chose BHSN over Gateway because Gateway's program is an evenings only program. I am definitely more of a morning person so early classes, clinicals, etc would work better for me. Also BHSN offers an accelerated program. Once we get started, I want to just keep going, I don't want to have the summer off. All the programs have their pros and cons. But for me, BHSN is now a clear choice. Plus there is something to be said for how old their program is, I think it started in the late 1800's. And once you're an RN, it really doesn't matter where you went to school, but BHSN does have a great reputation. Plus you do alot more clinical work at BHSN, then at Gateway. And I am definitely more of a hands on learner. Which program are you leaning towards?

Hey everyone. I just wanted to let you know that now that everyone had been notified about their acceptance... Seats will be opening up. I got into Gateway's program but decided on BHSN instead, so my seat at Gateway will go to the next qualified applicant. I've heard a few other people saying that as well.

JustMe28: Our acceptance letters say that the orientation packets will be going out late Spring.

JaRoJoCT: If you got accepted to BHSN, would you choose BHSN? I had a hard time deciding. I always wanted to attend BHSN but because I didn't hear back from them before the end of the application period, I had to apply to Gateway as a backup. It wasn't until then that I considered another school. They both have strong points. I did a pros and cons list and still had a hard time. BHSN is an older program and offers alot more hands on clinical experience. They are also a day program and offer an accelerated program. Gateway is a newer program. It's an evening program and is alot cheaper. Plus they have a new campus so their classrooms are top notch. See, totally different pros and cons.

Wannabenurse23: Did you get your letter yet? Maybe you got it today??? Anyone else? Can't wait to get our Orientation packet in late Spring so we can get started with all the requirements. For those that applied to Gateway, their decisions were just posted on MyCommNet. They are not sending out letter this year. It's all online. I applied to both and thank God, I got accepted to both, but I am choosing BHSN definitely.

I agree with KristenR: If you are going to start nursing school in the Fall, why not get it out of the way. I took AP1 last semester and taking AP2 this semester. Both courses are hard because there are a ton of things you just have to remember and know off the top of your head. Our professor was telling us that when you start nursing school (he also teaches at one), the professors will expect you to know AP cold. There's no review. You have to know the body and how everything works.

What I did not anticipate when applying to Housatonic was the immunizations. I had been out of school for some time so I need to get all my vaccinations. The MMR vaccination is a two shot deal with the second shot a month or so after the first. So luckily I was able to get registered on time, but it was a close call. They don't let you register until you get that clearance. Also, it took about 3 weeks or so for them to accept my transfer classes.
