Best nursing schools in San Diego!
There are multiple Sharp facilities and fashion valley is really close to all the main freeways so commuting (depending on times, rush hour can get a little slow on the freeways) wouldn't be that bad at all. They have Sharp Chula Vista (one that is closest to the Mexico border, they are going to start construction to build a brand new facility), Sharp Grossmont (East near El Cajon and is really great for new grads), Sharp Memorial (near fashion valley mall, top notch new facility), Sharp Mary Birch (thats specifically a women health hospital, really nice!), Sharp Coronado (that would be a hard commute across the bridge), and Sharp Mesa Vista (specifically a mental health facility). Sharp Mesa Vista, Memorial and Mary Birch are all on the same campus as each other.

Best nursing schools in San Diego!
It depends if you want to get your BSN or ADN. San Diego State University has a very good reputation and competitive program for BSN, really well known throughout San Diego for pumping out some quality nurses and having high NCLEX passing rates. Point Loma is really good as well but it is more pricey because it is a private school. If you want something that is is ADN you can look into Grossmont Community College. As far as hospitals go Sharp has always had a good reputation for treating their employees exceptionally well (Sharp Memorial being their #1 location). The VA hospital does have competitive pay and everyone I know that is a new grad at UC San Diego has only positive things to say. I would try and avoid Alvarado Hospital, they are a smaller hospital that doesn't have the resources like the other larger ones in San Diego and is pretty outdated in some areas. Pay wise I'm not quite sure, but Sharp has a really flexible PRN float pool for CNAs that I know a lot of people went through and it paid well enough to get them through nursing school. For living, it really depends on what kind of scene you are in to. If you are younger and still like to go to hip coffee shops, nights out drinking, and being close to the beach/trendy food places then you can try Point Loma or Pacific Beach. A lot of people going to San Diego State University live by the university. Most people don't live in Downtown unless you work there because it can get a little pricey to live in the sky rises. Mira Mesa is a nice little community outside of San Diego and a lot of families live there, same with Tierrasanta (that one can get a little expensive). A lot of people also live in apartment complexes by the Fashion Valley or Mission Valley Malls. Really any area is pretty good in San Diego. Just try to avoid certain areas of El Cajon, and National City.

Experience for attaining a job after graduation?
It really depends on where you live or where you want to work. I was a new grad (BSN) out of San Diego CA and didn't have any CNA or medical experience and I was only considered for 2 positions after applying to over 100 postings. When talking to recruiters they all said that they wouldn't consider my application (or give me the position) because I did not previously work in a hospital. Because of that I had to start looking outside of CA and ended up landing my dream job in Kentucky. Also, most of my classmates did not get jobs in CA or are still struggling to get a job. The only ones that are getting offers are ones that were CNAs for the hospital and worked on a unit that hired them once they graduated. If it was up to me I would do it all over again, get my CNA and gain experience while going to school.

Narcotic Diversion vs. Forgery
Can the ADON even put another nurses signature on there like that? That kinda seems like forgery to me and should be reported because what if that other nurse gets in trouble...This is definitely a tough spot though being that they are friends. At my hospital there is a "hotline" that you can use to report things like this and then there would be an investigation to see if someone was actually taking the medications.

New Grad/New Nurse/Feel Stuck- Need Advice
I don't think that you should take the position at all. It seems like your future manger is not good at listening nor compromise which can definitely make things more difficult in the future if you decide to work there. Think about if you were to come to her saying you made an error, how would she react? Would she be supportive like you need as a new grad and help with remediating the situation or berate you and say you need to do a better job even though you are overwhelmed on days? Is that the reason why there is a high turn over rate? I also feel that she is throwing you under the bus so to say because you explicitly told her that you wanted to work on night shift because it would make you more comfortable and she seemed to dismiss that in a second. There is good logic behind new grads starting off on night shift so it can be easier to get their footing. I think the right decision would be to decline her offer and face the job market head on. You never know what you are getting yourself into and it seems like there are already problems right off the bat which should be screaming *Red Flag*.

Does your school require you to do internship on top of clinicals
At my school we weren't required to have an internship but it was HIGHLY recommended that you take part in the internship program that they had set up. I am thankful that I did because I was able to put that on my resume and almost every job application I filled out asked if I participated in an internship. It was also a topic of discussion/question during my interviews and helped set me apart from some of the other candidates as I had more time for skills practice, time management, charting, etc.

I haven't heard anything -____-

Methodist Dallas Internships summer 2015
Was that for the critical care residency? Because for the CC I thought that they were interviewing almost 200 over the three days

Methodist Dallas Internships summer 2015
I asked when we should hear back from them for critical care and they said in three weeks. The main HR person is going out of the country for three weeks so they have to wait until she gets back to send out official offers. And they sent an email to everyone asking for references through their survey like system to anyone that interviewed.

Methodist Dallas Internships summer 2015
This is the most complete list that I have found but I know it's not all inclusive because I have found more by using Indeed and blogs. They change quite often too. Some come and go and some are gone for a few years and then come back when the hospitals have more money. http://academic.son.wisc.edu/studentnet/docs/bsn-nursing-residency-program-resource-guide.pdf
