  1. This is the 3rd class meeting and the first testing day in Pharmacology (NUR 104) We had two tests today and from now on we will have a test each meeting on the previous Module. I was relieved that I had studied enough for the tests we had today. The math was easy and I had studied the theory stuff enough. I know that it is going to get harder though. To other students at Gadsden State, this class is made up of LPN students and RN students. It is quite large with 47 on roll. Some of the students are from other Gadsden State campuses. I would advise those of you waiting till August to try and find an old dosage calculations book from a friend or from local thrift store, or even library. You can almost teach the stuff to yourself and then be extra ready. We have covered the first 4 chapters and are doing heparin and insulin calculations this week. The instructor is extra nice and she posts every lecture on WIMBA and provides lots of online stuff for us as well. I know that the content is going to get harder as the course progresses. I will try to update later in case some of you are wondering what it will be like when you take the class. Enjoy your summer! :redbeathe
  2. Congrats MMcduffs! I am so happy for all! I start Nur 104 tomorrow!!!! Very nervous! When I went online to Blackboard this morning there was so much already posted! Maybe I made a big mistake taking Psy and Speech class with this Pharmacology class! The Speech and Psy class are just for the month of June, but still.......I am so nervous about tomorrow! I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!:redbeathe
  3. Yay!!!!!!!! I am so very happy for you!! I hope you have a good summer and maybe I will see you on campus come fall!
  4. I went up to the school because I wanted to change my schedule for the summer and had already signed up for other classes. For some strange reason, you cannot change your schedule online if you have "confirmed." (which I guess means paid, because I had used my credit card and paid online.) Anyway, after the lady in the nursing office gets your letter back saying you are accepting the slot, they do something in the nursing office and then that allows you to register for the class. I am sure that there are going to be some folks that do not accept the placements. Don't give up hope. If you read last year's posts, several got in on the alternate list, which I would imagine is where folks decide to decline who were closer to the top of the list. Keep your hopes high and pray! I will too for you all. I know folks worked very hard and waiting is quite difficult.:)
  5. Don't give up hope! My name starts with the beginning of the alphabet, so maybe that is it. I am sure that they are very busy. My points were around 200, not exactly sure. I did pretty well on the TEAS and had good grades in Micro and A&P 2. PLEASE don't give up hope. If you go up on this website and put Gadsden State or GSCC in the search box, you can look at what is was like for last year's hopefuls. Don't give up hope! I will keep my fingers crossed for all concerned.!:redbeathe
  6. Check your mail! I got my acceptance letter today. We can go ahead and take NUR 104 if desired. I plan to take that and Speech 106 and PSY 210. My mail usually comes faster than a lot of people get theirs. Good luck to all!:bowingpur
  7. :nurse:Wow, it sounds like me! I will have to take at least 4 classes myself, perhaps at two different campuses! Good luck to both of us and lots of prayers!
  8. Hi, I live in Birmingham, and have my Masters in Elementary Ed. and am also interested in the program. I emailed one of the persons listed and she emailed me and told me about a seminar held each Wednesday from 12:00-1:00 at the Nursing Building Room 1029. I am torn between a two year RN program vs. trying to get the other needed prereq. done for this AMNP program. It is a lot of time and study and money to invest, but I would hope great benefits when finished. Go to their website, there are tons of specialty programs. Good luck. I plan to attend the seminar myself this week.
  9. :nurse:Thanks, I was afraid it will take that long. I am still waiting to see how I came out with BIO 202 and BIO 220. Grades haven't posted yet, at least not for me! I hope we both get in!
  10. I turned in my paperwork to Gadsden State's RN program. The waiting is killing me. The deadline was April 15th. I wonder how long it will take to hear something? I know finals and grades are not posted yet, but if anybody knows how long it will be, please advise!
