  1. Hi everybody, thinking about making a move to Seattle. I'm an ADN RN, currently work in CV/thoracic surgery periop in the midwest. I was previously a high school teacher, for about a decade, and my current unit is the only place I've worked as a nurse. We have a pretty nice level of independence and have a lot of influence on pt care where I'm at. It's a pretty high profile surgical program that we're a part of and we get shipped a lot of pts from the surrounding areas and manage VADs and heart transplants for the area as well. So my question is this; I love my unit but am pretty dissatisfied with the WHERE portion of my little personal bubble. I've been thinking a lot of making a move to Seattle but I have no idea what the market is like there for nurses and if I'd be able to find a comparable job to where I'm at now. My current pay is middle of the road, not that I'm unhappy with it, but the unit itself is really pretty great. I do have a bachelors degree from my days as a teacher and am fully aware of the impending need for the BSN completion. Am I out of luck in Seattle until I finish it or do you think there's a possibility of finding a CVICU job if I at least have it started? Other thoughts? Thanks in advance for the help.
