  2. It looks like to start a FB group, you have to add at least one friend to it. Bre, I sent you a friend request so that I can add you. Then I'll post the link here.
  3. shipmatey, I did my interview on July 25th. I hope you hear something soon!
  4. I just got my email this afternoon - I'm in for January! Good news on being guaranteed for May. Hopefully you can sneak into the January cohort, though. :) -Luke
  5. Had my interview Wednesday and it seemed to go pretty well. They mentioned that we might find out about the admissions decisions earlier than September 1st, which would be great. Good luck to everyone. Hopefully we will be seeing each other in January.
  6. Thanks so much for following up. I'm glad your interview went well. It seems like a lot of programs are having deferred enrollments from previous semesters. (My fall application to Loyola got pushed into Jan 2012.) If they are interviewing less than usual, I suppose we are lucky to have gotten the chance! I'll let you know how mine goes. Thanks! Luke
  7. I scheduled mine for the 25th, so you'll have to let me know what it's like. :) I've emailed some friends who applied for the Fall start date, so I'll let you know if they get back to me with any info. The decision date is listed as early September, so hopefully we'd know by then. Good luck! -Luke
  8. Hello all, Just thought I'd start a thread for anyone who has applied for the January 2013 cohort of the GEM program. I recently completed my supplemental application and I'm waiting to hear about an interview. In the meantime, I'm trying to find out as much as possible about the program, and Rush in general. I'm planning to attend the July 2nd information session. Please chime in if you're in the same boat! -Luke
  9. Inflexible teachers are a pain! I'm sure you'll be fine, though. I applied to Rush also, but it's for their Spring 2013 program. If I get into Loyola, I think I'll accept their offer. I don't want to be in school for another two years! My first degree is in theater, but my day jobs for the last 8 years have been IT-related.
  10. I just got my application in also, a few days ago. Now we just have to wait. :) I haven't heard anything about a waitlist yet. Regarding GPAs - my original undergrad GPA wasn't great, something around 2.7. (I went to University of Louisville.) But for my last two years of science prereqs at the City Colleges, I have a 4.0. I'm hoping that pulls me up enough to be a contender.
  11. Thanks Molly! That $48,000 for Rush is surprising. I figured a Masters program would be more expensive than a BSN. Good to know about the "no fees" thing too. I totally hear you about the time difference - being done with school in December 2013 sounds very attractive. A year does make a difference! I hadn't considered that Rush's schedule would put my graduation date at December 2014. I just finished my Loyola application, so hopefully I'll hear from them soon.
  12. Hi everyone! I'm currently applying for both of these programs and I was just wondering if anyone has opinions on their relative merits. I know the ABSN program is a few months shorter, and probably a bit cheaper. (Though I'm finding it hard to pin down the total cost of Rush.) Does the MSN give me the ability to get any certificates or licenses other than the standard RN? Does BSN vs MSN affect hire-ability or salary in any major way? I know I will probably want an MSN eventually, I'm just not sure whether to go for it now, or wait until I've been working for a little bit. Also due to deadlines, I'm applying for Fall 2012 ABSN but Spring 2013 MSN. So I won't be getting decisions at the same time. Anyway, just looking for thoughts/experiences from those who are in the same boat, or in either program. Thank you. -Luke
