I'm considering applying for graduate school to become an FNP. One of the schools that I am thinking of applying to needs three letters of reference: One from an NP, one from a supervisor, and one from an instructor. I'm a night resource nurse, and I rarely meet NPs, and I also rarely work somewhere often enough that anyone really gets to know me. My direct supervisor only knows that I don't get in trouble. So what do you think? Apply somewhere that prefers academic letters of reference? Take a pay cut and pick one department to work in, and wait?
