  1. ODS Graduates, I am a little concussed. If we don't buy our uniforms until ODS, then we just wear civilian cloths for our Commissioning and Oath, correct? From that point, are we Ensigns? If that is the case, when do you receive our bars, ODS graduation? I am just wondering because I am interested in having my Uncle who is a retired CDR put my bars on. Thank you
  2. I am "tentatively" going to NH Pensacola.
  3. No, I do not
  4. newnavynurse, You suggested getting a sponsor at my first duty station. How do I go about getting this sponsor?
  5. I will be going to NH Pensacola after graduating ODS. White sand and clear water! :)
  6. Now when you say "they expect you will go directly from ODS to [my] first duty station," are we talking the next day after graduation or do I have a few days to get things in order?
  7. Thank you for the incite. You defiantly cleared up some thing for me.
  8. ODS Graduates, I will be going to ODS this JUL or AUG. I was wondering, how much time do you have between ODS graduation and when you report to your first duty station? Also, I have read that it helps to get your HHG packed and shipped (I am assuming to my first duty station) prior to leaving for ODS. Does my local recuiting station help me with logistics or am I on my on?
  9. I graduate 6MAY2012. And I really want to get into an ED. I have previous ED work experience and I'm doing my practicum in the ED. I like the high turnover and not sitting with the same pt for 12hrs. You?
  10. Hi Y'all, My name is Aaron and I am in the NCP program graduating next month. After 4 long years I can finally see the light!!! Anyway, I spoke to my LTCR today and learned that the 3 big Naval Hospitals (Bethesda, Portsmouth, and San Diego) have met their new grad requirements. I requested these 3 on my Duty Preference Sheet. My LTCR recommended Camp Lejeune, NAS Pensacola, and Camp Pendleton. He did not mention NAS Jacksonville and I totally forgot to ask if that was still available. I am looking for the hospital that would give me (a new grad) the best experience Any suggestions? Thank you.
