My background was completed today and I am officially a Neuro-Sugical RN!!!!Honesty is truly the best Policy....So yes you can get a hospital job at a magnet hospital with a positive background just stay faithful!!!!

Update: I had my an interview on tuesday and was offered the position!!!!! I disclosed all information what a roller coaster this has been thanks for all the positive feedbacks everyone!!!!!

God has been so merciful on me!!!! The case aganist me by the b.o.n has officailly been dissmissed!!!!so i had no lawyer and still was able to prove i was being truthful!!!next step is finding employment!!!

GreAt News!!!! I want to share it so bad but I don't want to jinx nothing God has been so good to be and things are going really good so far!!! I just received a letter from the Board of Nursing that states an investigation has been started because the find evidence that a brech of the nurse practice act as be violated such as ". Obtaining a license by fraud" even though I self reported!! Im in a process of an eviction and can't afford a lawyer!! I thought things would have been better but I may loss my RN license!!! There goes my dreams?!!1. If I do get to keep my license will it forever state I was investigated??2. Will anyone hire me with an arest and past investigation on my liscence??

Ive been applying to about 100 rn jobs per day ranging from ltc to hospital jobs. If you are a nurse that has a criminial past such as petit theft please let me know what feild of work your in and how you worded your answer on the application. If you are a recruiter or work in hr be honest and let me know if my application were to be placed in front of you would you give me a chance or would you trash my application? Please help me, thank you.

Hey!!! How is Nursing School? I really hope you stayed in the program. I you lov something don't let anyone tel you otherwise. Get the felony expunged and deal with the misdominor you'll be fine just have faith!!

If you ever have questions about or for the Board of Nursing and cant afford an attorney ask them yourself it's cheaper and reliable!!!

I am so greatful for all your advices. I let God be my advisor and I went to the Board of Nursing my self and spoke with them upfront. I showed he my expungment which she said did not matter and I did not have to disclose nothing about that case. Then for my Misdominor in the disposition they stated no charges and no conviction so they will investigate a little further on that because it might have been a citation legally and was filed as a conviction. So I'm still praying and keeping hope alive. They told me I would be fine and don't worry just keep applying for jobs!!! I'm so greateful and pray everything turns out fine. God is s good to me even when I don't deserve it!!!

You will be fine but try to get an expungment. In my state we are allowed one per life time but hospitals are not able to pull them up, but if not expunged thy will see the arest and take it to the committee and have it reviewed and more than likely you will be denied he offer. Unless you make a great impression stay positive you'll be fine!!

Some Nurses are telling me to not bring my issue to th BON because they would have found it when I first applied for my Licence.

I was offered a great opportunity as an RN in a GN program. But unlike most of you guys I've made really bad decision in my life time. So after being offered the job and being cleared by Occupational Health I received a phone call 2 days before orientation stating my backround came back positive and they would no longer hire me. Grand Theft when I was 18 (which was expunged but still came up, but after I contacted the agency they removed the charge and updated my file) and Petit Theft when I was 19 first year in College. I did not disclose this information because one was expunge ad the other was adjudicated Witheld no conviction. After moving and quitting my old job now I'm in a city and apartment I can not afforded. My life is over. I've shut everyone out of my life because I am humiliated and devastated that I've let everyone down including myself. I think about ending my life a few times a day and pray for strength.It took me a few weeks to write this post because it truly hurts to talk about it. The worst part is I didnt even disclose this information to the BON and now I might loss my license. Life just seems to get worse everyday. I never suffered from depression until now. I'm about to be homeless and I have no one to turn to, but God. I have a few questions to ask please stay positive: 1. Will I loss my license if I try to bring up these arest to the BON? 2. Will I ever be able to work as an RN with these arest records? 3. What states don't allow employers to ask about arest? THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ MY POST!!!! IT'S BEEN EXACTLY 1 MONTH OF BEING A RN BSN YEAH!!!!@Beckylynn yes I applied to LTC and home health....But I have great news I've been blessed with an interview in the Cardiac Observation Unit and now I'm a bit nervous on what to expect???? HAS ANYONE EVER WORKED IN THE COU (CARDIAC OBSERVATION UNIT)BEFORE???? Wish me luck on my interview on Friday you guys and keep me in your prayers!!!
