  1. I plan on leaving my job at the end of this year to move back to the state that I graduated from. At that point I will have been working for a little over a year. I want to know how I should tell my boss, she gave me my first job, mentored me, I love where I work, but I hate where I live. I feel as though I will be abandoning her. Since I plan to leave late December or early January, I want to tell her in October that I will be pursuing job opportunities elsewhere. Is that too soon? Should I just start filling out applications and then go to interviews and wait until I have had a good interview to tell her. I just don't want my boss to get a call one day asking about the type of employee I am and that's how she finds out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
