So, one of my friends made an inquiry sometime last weekend and he said that the cut off for the MoMac program is low 80's. I think he said it was around 82-83%. But, offers were only handed out to high school students. Apparently the next batch of offers will be sent out by the end of this week. Hope this helps anyone who also applied to the MoMac stream!

Alright, thanks for your input on Hamilton. I am sure there are many great parts of Hamilton :) Oh ok. I guess I'm not the only one waiting on MoMac! Btw, congrats on accepting the RPN program! But if MoMac does accept you, are you going to accept it? I think I'll wait a week to call or email the admission office. I'll probably ask what the cut offs are too. Hopefully the cut offs didn't sky rocket to high 80's!

I am also looking at York and Western but they are just my back ups. I heard Western is good, but you are kinda limiting yourself to types of placements from what I see in forums. Um, York... Well... They're always on strikes... lol. As for Mac, there are criticisms on PBL. It's either you hate it or you love it. As for their science courses, they are pretty intense. So, science foundation is right on, but clinicals may be lacking (although they do give preferences but placements can be really far). There's not much holding me back from Mac except that I'm going to be taking residence and I don't really like Hamilton. The campus is nice, just not the city ahaha

Thank you so much for your reply! Now that you mentioned this, I'm kinda worried. So, do you think that some of the theory courses are a waste of time and money then? Also, how were the science courses!? I think that is the number one thing that is really holding me back from Ryerson. Overall though, would you highly recommend Ryerson's nursing program? I am so confused, I don't know where I want to go. I've been to a lot of open houses including Ryerson and I still can't decide. There are so many people that like the program, and then there are others who just bash it. In general, most of the negatives people say about is: 3rd year community nursing, disorganized placements (no preferences due to too many students as you said), and like you said, too many theory courses! I know in the end, it doesn't matter what school you go to because you'll still end up with the same degree and all. But as much as possible, I want to be able to enjoy the program and the whole university experience hehe! Thanks again!

Hey guys! Did anyone get accepted to the Mohawk-McMaster BScN program? On their website, it said that they will be handing out offers by the end of March and it is now already the first day of April! I don't know if there's a problem with admissions or if I just didn't make the cut.. I would also appreciate if some of you can give me an input on Mac's program. I already know about PBL and SDL. I just want to know how you like the overall curriculum (science, nursing courses, labs, tutorials) and clinical placements. Thanks! Also, is there anyone here who is currently attending Ryerson's nursing program? Many people praise the program and I'm curious to know what is really special about Ryerson's program. I checked their curriculum and I saw that there is not that many health science courses. There's 2 A&P, 3 psychology, and 1 nutrition (if that even counts). Other universities have microbiology, pharmacology, ect. Do you guys feel that you have a strong science foundation to enter the field? Just wondering.. I don't mean to sound offensive or anything. Actually, Ryerson is one of my top choices! :) Your replies and comments would be greatly appreciated!!!
