BCIT August 2012
That is Awesome info for us Level 1s Smiley65!!! Thanks so much for the heads up on everything you've been telling us now and in the past :). I emailed bcit nursing at the same time as my previous post here and they also had provided a prompt response saying exactly what you've said, that all level 1s should Not follow the schedule posted on mybcit.ca, but rather our individual schedules will be emailed to us by this Friday:w00t:. Hope all level 1s are excited for a new journey and all others continuing their studies in nursing are just as excited about returning and getting closer to finishing off their degree=). Cheers:nurse:

BCIT August 2012
Hi Everyone! I'm just wondering, does anyone know where to meet for the first class or first hour on the first day of school for level 1s? I haven't received an email regarding a finalized schedule yet. Do level 1s simply follow the tentative schedule posted on our mybcit.ca accounts? I'm wondering if smiley65, or other nursing students who have gone through level 1 would know? Will level 1s be sent their schedule before the first day of classes? Thank=). I'm excited!

Hi Rsohi, Thanks so much for your reply! I just received a reply back from bcit nursing after inquiring about access to courses via D2L and they said that it's the instructor's choice of when to give us all access. I'm thinking that the courses won't be accessible to us until much closer to the first day of class or even on the first day of school. I have received an email regarding how to register for the WHMIS course just last week. hope you got it too=). Thanks for pointing out the 2 other pre-readings that i missed that were stated on the textbook list! Hope you're having a great summer! Thanks:)

BCIT August 2012
Hi rsohi, I will be starting Nursing in August. I am wondering if you were sent the online readings & the Worksafe articles for NURS 1020? Are these online readings for the WHMIS course? The information sheet that we were sent via email upon acceptance mentioned that we would be sent the "link" to access the WHMIS course online in the first week of June. I'm just wondering if they have forgotten to email everyone the link. Also, are the readings found on D2L? I'm currently taking a summer course via D2L but I do not see any other courses on my D2L account other than the summer course that I'm taking. On the information sheet that was emailed to us on May10th, the pre-reading for NURS 1020 states: -see booklist (on-line readings & readings from WorkSafe BC booklets)-instructor will email class prior to August 1st with pre-reading access information. [i'm guessing that pre-readings for NURS 1020 is different from WHMIS??] Were you accepted to the August 2012 intake from the Jan 2012 intake, so you already have access to the NURS 1020 readings online? Thanks:)

BCIT August 2012
Hi, I have a question regarding tuition fees. I'm wondering if our status on mybcit.ca has to change from pending acceptance to full acceptance before we're able to pay our tuition fees? Will an amount automatically appear in our Fee Assessment and Payment section of our mybcit account Or do we simply enter & pay our tuition amount anytime? When I paid my commitment fee($200), I simply entered the amount in mybcit.ca's payment section. Not sure if we will be told the exact amount of our tuition... Thanks!

I was also very surprised to receive an email so late this evening about being shortlisted. Hope the rest also find out soon! I just realized also that the letter of intent is optional and not completely mandatory.

Thanks yohane! I was also just wondering, have you applied to BCIT's nursing program in prior cycles? if so, is that the reason why you did not have to re-submit references and your letter of intent, hence you didn't need to be shortlisted this time and they went directly from the application state to provisional acceptance instead? Sorry for so many questions. I am just worried because it's my first time applying and I haven't heard anything from them yet since January I believe (after sending in my application). My last name is also very close to the end of the alphabet (if they are in fact reviewing applications in order of our last names)

Yohane: Congrats for being provisionally accepted! I'm still waiting, but I was wondering if you meant that you were first shortlisted a long time ago, Then you received provisional acceptance today? or once you are shortlisted, they will change your status to "provisional acceptance"? Thanks
