  1. A lot of the stuff in the book is fluff. Skip that stuff and study the meat and potatoes. I need to write things down for myself to learn as well. I'll read through the whole chapter first, then go back and write down what I really need. The tests in the back of the book often pick out the big important ideas/concepts from the chapter as well. A tip I read about on this site that I haven't tried yet is to read only the first sentence and last sentence of each paragraph, and read all the tables and diagrams. Again, I haven't tried this approach so I have no idea how well it works.
  2. I've heard the Saunders book is good, is anyone using that? And do you use the comprehensive review guide, or do you buy all individual books for each course? We're using Elsevier books and I came across this: http://www.us.elsevierhealth.com/Nursing/Review-NCLEX/book/9781437708257/Saunders-Comprehensive-Review-for-the-NCLEXRN-Examination/ Anyone have an opinion on this book? Thanks!
  3. [quote= Another point to consider would be Med School students. While working as "interns" these students regularly work 24+ plus hours at a time. I am not trying to disregard any persons concern; however this kind of schedule is not uncommon in the real world. Yes, but an internship is the 1st year AFTER you've completed medical school.
  4. Wow, thanks for this! I was planning on all white boxers so thanks for the save. White is the worst color for clothing!
  5. ah yes! totally for about adidas. thanks all!
  6. thanks, i can't wait! i'd definitely rock a pair of connies. i didn't realize they may have to be leather, so i guess i'll just wait to see what they want at orientation so i don't have to double buy.
  7. hey all, i'll be starting nursing school this august and we are required to wear all white, and of course, white shoes. i'm a darker colored clothing type of dude and i especially don't wear white shoes, so i'm oh, and i WILL NOT wear running shoes. i share the same reaction ryan gosling has to them in crazy stupid love: what do you all wear?
  8. i was just going to ask about this. do you recommend a book for all the math/dosage stuff? thanks!
  9. i'm starting a program and they want a test to show positive for my hep b titers. i had the full 3 shot series 17 years ago, and about 8 months ago i got part 1 & 2. i should show positive for them now that i just boosted them up, right? thanks!
  10. wow, commuting from sacto. that's brutal. i'm stressing about the commute from livermore. i'm probably going to move. anyone know what the schedule will be like? super early mornings?
  11. just received my letter today for fall. i was number 43 i believe. it was my second year applying. i'm excited and feeling like i'm going to throw up at the same time.
