how long does it take to receive your ATT?
I am having a similar problem. I sent my application for licensure to the California BVNPT late Feb and sent my payment to Pearson Vue mid April, thinking that I had allowed plenty of time for my application to be reviewed. In the middle of May, I thought it was strange that I hadn't yet received my ATT, so I contacted Pearson Vue. They told me that the BVNPT had not given them approval for me to test. I emailed the BVNPT and they told me that they were still reviewing applications received in January! Although I was frustrated, I thought I'd wait about another month and by that time, I would receive my ATT for sure. Well, that time has come and I haven't gotten any updates. I am worried that my payment will be void before I receive my ATT. That's $200 down the drain! I have about another month before the 90 day time period after submitting payment. I really hope something will happen SOON.

Non-nursing job with LVN education
Thanks for the info! I'll definitely consider this.

Happy LVN/LPN
I had a mental health course with clinical in my program. After hearing stories from my instructor about the several incidents in which she was thrown across the room by a patient, mental health nursing scared me to death. I also did not enjoy the clinical too much.

Happy LVN/LPN
I am a new grad LVN and was wondering where all the happy LVNs are working. Through reading the threads on this site, LTC LVNs appear to be highly stressed. I am trying to decide on a specialty in which I will not end up hating my job. I'd love to hear your comments! :)

Non-nursing job with LVN education
Thank you both for your comments. I guess the biggest issue for me is that I don't have the required experience to be hired into an administrative position. Jenniferelliott, were you hired as a new grad LVN/LPN into the OR? I wouldn't mind working in the OR, but I'm pretty sure they don't hire LVNs.

I hate being a nurse
Wow, you are definitely the ideal nurse. I am a new grad waiting to take my NCLEX but I absolutely dread becoming a nurse because I am certain that I would not be able to survive this sort of situation. I realized this during one of the last few months of school but forced myself to finish the program because it would be a lot of time and money wasted if I dropped out. I really want to find a different career that is somewhat affiliated with nursing so that I don't waste my education, but I have no idea what to look for (or who will even be willing to hire me). Anyways, I really admire and respect you for handling such a stressful event so gracefully. Keep up the good work! I truly believe all nurses should have an attitude like yours.

Non-nursing job with LVN education
I graduated from LVN school in January 2012 and am waiting to schedule my NCLEX-PN. However, I dread the thought of becoming a nurse. I realized this about halfway through my nursing program and thought it was just a phase but it hasn't gone away. I feel like I'd be happier with an administrative job. What kind of job can I get in administration as an LVN?
