  1. Hi for those wondering i was on the regular holdlist for the August intake, dont know where or how may people where on it. I got the impression that about 10-15 people where considered top of the holdlist. A friend who did get on to the top of the holdlist got fully accept about a month after acceptances went out so mid juneish. And as far as dates go application where due on Jan 31st We got shortlisted around March 15th or somewhere in that week. I did seem like some people got notification on being shortlisted almost two weeks before others. I think the last people heard around April 1st. All documents where due Mid April, i believe it was the 16th. And we got a final word about May 1st. Blondie thanks for starting the Facebook group i followed the link and joined.
  2. I was put on the holdlist for this past August, I got a call from BCIT about five days before the August cohort started, so therefore it can be very short notice. I was able to deffer for this January as I live outsie of Vancouver and could not sort out my life in 5 days. So for those of you on the holdlist, you could be offered a seat late in the game. For everyone else I am excited to go to the orientation and meet you guys on the 13th. Question has anyone started a facebook group yet? It would be great to have one to try and get intouch with more people who have been accepted.
  3. Sugardust, I applied for this Aug intake and am currently wait listed and planning to re apply for january. I have BSc. Kin from SFU that i completed this spring. A friend of mine who just finished also applied she got a seat on the hold list and has a guaranteed place for january. We both have the english transfer and both psyc transfers, and decent work and volunteer experience. Her GPA is sightly higher then mine. SO to be perfectly honest i am still confused on how they choose their candidates. Chhun3, You are correct that the documentation for the first stage is those 3.
  4. You probably will not hear anything back until at least september. For the August Application intake you had to apply by dec 15th (July 15th for jan), have all documents in by Jan 31st (Aug 31 for Jan) and you hear back if you are short listed mid to late march. So i hate to get your hopes up but you still have a long wait ahead of you. But good luck with your application and happy waiting, there are lots out there with you. And greys03, what type of other credentials did you friend have to get in with 30 credits, i hear thats really hard to do?
  5. Hi for those who have been through the application processes before i have a few questions. I am currently waitlisted, and i am thinking as its not the holdlist i have a pretty slim chance of getting in this august, which i am ok with and plan to reapply for january. But i know i am not able to reapply now as i have a application open. Is the earliest period i can apply july 15th? thats the last day that the application is open but from the info i got from BCIT it seems like the last day they say our applications will open? As well from people who where waitlisted then applied again, did you go through the whole application again? ANd last question, I am looking at ways to improve my application for january, and the only things for me to do is to potential complete some of the nursing electives. (I just completed my BSc. and have a few transfer credits eng, and both psycs) Will BCIT accept them if i begin them in September or do any course need to be completed this summer before the application is due. Thanks, any insite would help.
  6. I hope everyone got their references and letter of intent in, only a few more weeks of waiting and we will know if we have a seat or not. Good luck to all who have been shortlisted we are in the last stage. :) And i hope all those who where not short listed try again next year, and don't give up.
  7. on the link after they list all the specific levels there is a list of elective course that we have to take BCIT : : Nursing: Full-time, Bachelor of Science in Nursing english libs 7001 &7002 Psyc 1101 &1102 HMGT 7180 - though i think you need to be in the program to take this one as well you need two 200 level LIBS electives You may have done some of these in preparation to get into the program without knowing it. But defiantly my plan if i don't get into for september to finish of these elective course so i don't need to do them one summer. And congrats on getting in i was also shortlisted on the 15th.
  8. Has anyone heard anything this week, fingers are crossed for anyone still waiting to hear.
  9. I have a last name starting with F and got shortlisted last thursday as well as a friend with last name B.
