problems with urinary catheters
I am a new nurse and I have really hard time with urinary catheters. Even on males I always get stuck on the prostate. Does anyone out there have any advice? Thank you :-)

IV piggyback question
Say you have a patient with continuous normal saline and you need to piggy back a med, but after that med has finished infusing you need to administer another med by piggyback that is incompatible with the first med. Both meds are compatible with the primary fluids. Do you need ALL new tubing or just new piggyback tubing?

Mental Illness disclosure to the BON
I may be applying for a TX RN license by endorsment and I am not sure how to answer the question regarding mental illness. It asks have have you ever been (last 5 years) diagnosed with, treated for, or hospitalized for schizophrenia, psychotic disorders, bipolar.....ect. I have been seeing a psychiatrist for depression for several years and now there is a question of bipolar disorder. I honestly don't know if I am "officially" diagnosed with bipolar or not. Also, I have never been hospitalized for any mental illness. So, if I do answer yes to that question what happens next? How does the board handle that? It would seem overkill to put me in some kind of program because I have never been a threat to myself or others and I have never been hospitalized. I also have always been compliant with my medication. I want to answer no to this question because it really is not a big deal.

UCONN MEIN accelerated nursing
Hello! i just finished my application for UCONN MEIN program. The application seems short and easy. Just be aware that the admissions coordinators are very difficult to get in contact with. You sometimes need to email them more than three times to get a question answered. good luck with your application

UCONN vrs URI please help!
I am currently applying to nursing school and I am having trouble deciding between URI and UCONN. I already have a BS in Animal Science from URI with a 3.7 GPA, and (from what others have told me that did the same thing) If you already have a degree from URI and are in good standing all it takes is minor paper work to be accepted into the nursing program. My problem is the UCONN program is accelerated and I would be done in about a year, but I would not be able to work at all during that time. Would it be worth it to take it slower at URI and work as a CNA/SN on the side? Is is true that it is easier for a new nurse to find a job if they have CNA/SN experience? As far as the educational experience will I be getting the same from either university?
