Describe the characteristics that you possess that will make you an effective nurse: I possess numerous characteristics that I believe will make me an effective nurse. The first and foremost being compassion. Compassion is what makes me who I am. For as long as I can remember I have always been a deeply caring person. I enjoy visiting retirement homes to show my pet ferrets, and I thoroughly love seeing the joy and happiness that I bring to the residents. I also own three cats whom I found sick and abandoned. Nursing Essay Question
so i am applying again this year to the nursing program and last year i didn't make it only because of my score on the essay. i was wondering if some of you wouldn't mind reading what i wrote and give me any tips on to make it better. i appreciate all comments! thank you much! upon determining that nursing was what i want to do as a career; i have been confronted with several challenges. the most significant challenge was to earn good grades in all of the required pre-requisites to better my score on the nursing program application. when i began taking my pre-requisites i was working a full time job, supporting myself, and taking evening classes on campus. at times i would feel so overwhelmed. i would literally get off work and get in my car and head to school to make sure i was in class on time. in order to make this routine work and get the grades i needed, i made sure to manage my time wisely, stay well organized and work hard. i went to every class (even if i was sick), i made sure to always be on time so i never missed anything, i asked questions when i didn't understand, and i made sure i had enough time to study every day. in the end after all was said and done i reached my desired outcome and received a's in all the required pre-requisites! from this experience and grueling routine i learned that hard work and perseverance will always pay off.
