  1. Thank you Zeus! Hopefully one of us will hear good news soon :)
  2. I haven't... UCF is saying that May 1st is the last day they will be calling people off of the wait list apparently. :uhoh21:
  3. I have a friend that went the ASN route with SSC. She had a previous undergrad degree in art history. However, her GPA was not high enough for the accelerated and she did not get into the concurrent - so when she was accepted into SSC ASN it was her only option. What she plans on doing is UCF's RN to MSN which shortens the time for the transition and she still is capable to get the graduate degree she wants. You are right Protas most hospitals are now looking to achieve "magnet" status which requires about 75% employees to hold a minimum of a BSN. This is definitely effective for ORMC and Florida Hospital. So I can see why a lot of us are unsure why to pursue the ASN still. But, those who have trouble getting into the BSN programs due to the competitiveness are capable to bridge the RN to a higher level degree and have the same opportunity.
  4. Just got my UCF concurrent acceptance letter
  5. Got my seminole acceptance but no UCF email yet ....
  6. I agree it seems like they're behind this year on notifying students.... at least after today we know that they no longer have any other program acceptances going out anytime soon, that is after the concurrent today. Hopefully they start to really clean up the wait list too..
  7. If you go to the American Heart Association you can search for places that offer CPR classes in your area. Most of the places have a schedule up with upcoming classes and there are a few before May 14th ( I think I remember checking and FL Hospital is one of them). It must be the BLS for healthcare providers by the AHA standards. Some classes are an 8 - 3PM thing or shorter in the evening. Depending upon the location it's about $60 too. Find a CPR Class
  8. Letters are not going out until 5PM this Friday
  9. Talked to UCF they said this Friday at 5PM letters will be sent out
  10. Thanks for the heads up! Fortunately my employer requires the BLS for health care providers so I am all set with the CPR portion!
  11. It starts May 14th but orientation is on the 9th and 10th I believe. I agree ZEUS&LINCOLN it is a good idea to be prepared so if we do get a last minute call we are ready! Last year a couple students were called the day before orientation!
  12. I agree Protas but, they won't even give us an exact number because it is against policy or something like that!
  13. They give you 10 days exactly to accept an offer.
  14. @ BlueSkies8263 - Yes it does immediately. Unfortunately you cannot wait to see if you get removed off of the waitlist for the accelerated and accept a seat in the concurrent program. UCF will take you off of the waitlist once you accept another program.
  15. I agree it doesn't make sense especially if some of us are closer to the beginning versus the bottom half of the list. Seems like UCF is a little behind this year and calls may not be made until the last minute for us on the waitlist. Better late than never I hope!
  16. @Protas - Yes we are all hoping that we will hear word about the waitlist soon. From what I've gathered the concurrent program acceptances will come out this week which will take some individuals off of the waitlist for the accelerated once they accept their seat on the concurrent and hopefully start to move some of us along. Stay positive everyone!
  17. I was told by UCF the letter probably wouldn't be going out till the 3rd week in April even though it is past 6 weeks on their timeline... that's what I was told so maybe next week the acceptances will be sent out.
  18. Looks like we might not hear word until the 3rd week in April according to the UCF CON office.
  19. I think UCF emails out the acceptance letter.
  20. Congrats to all UF acceptances! Did anyone on this board apply to UCF too and decline your spot? I am wait list and trying to stay positive and have a peace-of-mind with this waiting game.
  21. Congrats to all UNF acceptances! Did anyone on this board apply to UCF too and decline your spot? I am wait list and trying to stay positive and have a peace-of-mind with this waiting game.
  22. Diegoseesnurses did you accept or decline your spot with UCF or did you choose another school? Just curious because UCF is saying not all students have declined their spots yet and there's quite a few of us on the wait list..
  23. Yoshin78 - Do they give you an amount of time to accept your spot off of the wait list? I'm still on the wait list and still very positive about being pulled off and just wanted to know. Thanks and congrats!
  24. J8911 - did you already decline your spot at UCF for UF? I am on the wait list for UCF and am very hopeful that some spots opened up with those who are accepting other school's offers. Best of luck to you and congrats on your acceptance!
