  1. If possible, can someone post some email of the nurse recruiters for the major nj hospitals such as robert wood johnson, jfk medical center, st. peter's, newark beth Israel, etc? I can't seem to find them on their websites
  2. I liked the kaplan class and the most helpful part of the program for me was the qbank and qtrainers. They looked exactly like the nclex which made me very comfortable taking the nclex, it made the nclex feel like a very large qtrainer test. What helped me the most was practicing questions and really seeing what the questions asked, the kaplan questions were nclex style so looking for key words and negatives were skills I learned using the questions. I didn't really like the content lectures too much but the HURST content videos were very good. If you get a friend to buy hurst you can just share both programs for the price of one. If you're short on money I would only get the $300 qbank because the decision tree can be found online and the qtrainers can be found online too I used the hurst videos with the kaplan qbank and I passed with 75 questions in about 45 minutes
  3. Does anyone have the direct email address to a member of board of nursing, specifically the person in charge of licensure by examination or the secretary of the BON? People on this forum have had success emailing people directly but I can't find their actual email on the BON website and they never get back to me when I use the "contact us" page example of someone having success emailing directly: I know if I go to Newark and physically show up at the BON that that may speed up the process but I'd like to try and email them first. And this information may be helpful to other people on this forum
  4. Yeah that was for the class of 2012. For me, Seton Hall was OKAY. You really only get what you put into the program. I know there were some students who cheated and passed and went on to fail their nclex and I know students (like me) who worked hard for their grades and passed the nclex in 75 questions in under an hour . Most of the professors were good and truly cared about their students and they were very helpful most of the time. Also to help raise the nclex pass rate they have increased the failing grade from a C to a C+, which I personally think is still low because some schools require at least B's.
  5. Red_robster408, just wondering did you have to sit for the nclex again in California? or did the nclex that you took count for both states?
  6. Sandyjones do you mind posting a link to your notes?
  7. i'm a nursing student and i'm looking to take the cna exam. i've already passed fundamentals but idk where to go from here. i've looked online and i haven't really gotten a straight answer. the nj website says obtaining nurse aide certification through alternate training (vocational) routes the following individuals may take the department's written/oral examination without first completing a nurse aide training course and clinical skills evaluation: individuals who submit evidence of the successful completion of a course in the fundamentals of nursing within the 12 months immediately preceding application to take the written/oral competency examination, including;send all documentation of required training to: certification program division of health facilities evaluation & licensing new jersey department of health p.o. box 358 trenton, nj 08625-0358 but i'm confused as to what this "documentation" is? should i send my transcripts and a copy of the syllabus and the skills i've learned? i'm not quite sure where to go from here. any help is appreciated :heartbeat and if anyone's done this before please me help out :)
  8. I'm having a lot of trouble conducting a head to toe assessment while giving a patient a bed bath. Can someone go through the steps with me and what I should look for when I do each area of the body?
