  1. Paraston - I remember very well how nervous I was!! Checking the mailbox everyday! Especially after the interview while waiting to see if you were accepted - that is the worst!! But keep in mind that all different people with all different grades, volunteer hours were accepted. So, I can't say for sure what they are looking at most. I can say that you would probably need a few A's though to be considered - just guessing but I don't know anyone that was accepted with B's. It always depends though on the group of people applying though , which will change every intake. Oh and for those who do get an interview and don't get in - don't give up! Some accepted students will have applied to other schools and will turn down their spot. My friend is in second semester atm and got called just before class started last January (maybe 3 weeks - a month) and was offered a spot. So you just never know. Also for those who don't make it in next intake - I strongly suggest to get on the wait list for anatomy and do that while waiting for the next intake - and get the non-nursing electives out of the way too:)
  2. Losublime - I was SO excited to say the least when I opened the letter:) I heard there were 180 applicants and there were 48 spots (16 will switch to fast track at the end of first year) The envelope was thick - lots of info so I figured maybe it was an acceptance letter. This was my second try getting in - I tried with 4 B's to begin with and when I didn't get in I went back and upgraded two of my high school courses to A's and got a lot more volunteer hours. A&P is stressful! I am studying all the time but it is paying off. It is a lot of information to take in. We have a quiz every Thursday (usually 3 chapters at a time) and just finished a big exam. It for sure feels like two different classes with the lab - that is why I strongly recommend having English 105 finished so you don't have to do that on top of it all. Patho sounds the same - just lots of studying and you should do fine! Baileybee - They change additions of textbooks often so if you buy the wrong addition you will then have to buy another! I heard horror stories about A&P and it really isn't that bad. I worried all summer about it!
  3. Hi everyone , I am in my first year in the BSN program - first semester. I was just reading some of your comments on here. Don't worry about messy writing on your essay questions! I erased and erased and went away feeling like there was no way they were going to take me serious with such chicken scratch! I did however get an interview! I felt the interview was the best ever. I was so nervous and really there is no reason to be. They make you feel so welcome and at ease. I would say in my opinion volunteer hours are VERY important. I had 120 hours in a care home and worked as a home health worker also for months. I also had 3 reference letters. I had 2 A's and 2B's and had finished all my non-nursing electives. (phil, psych and statistics) I DEF recommend everyone to try to get these finished before you start - oh and English. If you don't you will have to take them on top of all your nursing classes and trust me you don't want to do that!! I have been in school for nearly a month now and what they say is true - I have no life other than constant studying but I know it will all be worth it in the end. You can not go through A&P without studying everyday. The other 3 courses Nursing 101,102,103 are a lot less stressful but still require work with a lot of essay writing and of course tests. I have to say I was terrified to start A&P as I have had friends that have failed it or nearly failed. If you study a ton there is no way you can fail. It is my favourite class - very interesting. There is also a lab class to go with A&P - I haven't had any exams yet in this class so not sure what to expect! If you get an interview just go in confident and you will do fine! Trust me I hate interviews - usually so stressful for me! Once you get in there though it is anything but:) Good luck to you all and if you have any questions I would be happy to answer them!
  4. Oh thats right! I remember you now! lol If you have the marks - really try to get a lot of volunteer hours and great references - so important! Good luck to you in January!! so close!
  5. pet_lover48 - You still have a chance! I bet not everyone will take the spots offered as I'm sure a handful of people applied to more than one school. My friend got in last minute last semester so don't lose hope! It is very nice that the Jan intake is so close though...instead of waiting almost a year! I would call and ask what number you are on the wait list. Good luck to you=) Thank you for the congrats! Let us know what happens!
  6. Got my acceptance letter in the mail this morning=) :w00t:
  7. Nothing yet! I would think they sent them out Monday since they made decisions on Friday - So I'm hoping tomorrow=) fingers crossed:yelclap:
  8. Fruitloop3 - My last name starts with a C. My friend's status didn't change either and her last name starts with an R - So I'm really hoping that it was alphabetically !! My status changed about 3:30 - 4 on Friday and I know they were closed at 4:30 and have to enter like 48 names? So maybe! Let us know!! GOOD LUCK!
  9. Yahhh!! So excited I think it just means you have to accept the spot (So many apply at multiple schools) pay fees etc. For those who's status's haven't changed - there is usually one or two that go to other schools so there will be a waiting list. My friend's status hasn't changed but there is still hope! My friend last semester got called last minute when a spot came up.
  10. My UFV account application status has changed to "conditionally accepted" around 3:30! I think this means we are in! Congrats to you two and good luck to everyone else=)
