  1. Congrats! Thank you, I'll keep trying and hopefully I'll be back in a couple of years with a success story as well. :)
  2. I've done so in the essays and it doesnt seem to make a difference. Hopefully I'll have better luck in the future. Thanks
  3. Yeah, i figure thats what the admissions people will say when they see my transcript. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it
  4. You are absolutely right. Thanks
  5. Thanks prettymica. I will do just that.
  6. Does anyone else have a story similar to mine? regardless how it ended I'd love to hear from you all.
  7. Kizeemimi, I was very concerned about that. Even though there were reasons behind the failures I feel like there will always be obstacles and if they stopped me from passing such "easy" courses, what will happen when the courses are way more difficult? I do love the field and feel I can go through it so I'll keep trying but I am very hard on myself and its been extremely discouraging. I just wanted some advice from others outside of myself. Thanks so much for your reply. Raecudzy, I understand what you mean. I really do appreciate honesty. I have finished all needed science courses (for the RN degree). I've taken both A&P's, microbiology, biochemistry, etc and I've done pretty well in them. I know I can pass difficult classes. I'm just really worried about these F's that I cant erase from my transcript. I feel like nursing schools wont see that I've done well in other classes and that i've redeemed myself. they'll see the many failed attempts and automatically reject my application.
  8. They no longer count the F's into my GPA since I eventually passed the classes. They use the very latest grade obtained. I have completed all my pre reqs with a C or better and even had enough credits for an AA degree.
  9. Sorry guys for the "@". I'm new to the site and I'm still figuring it out. Please bare with me. I do appreciate each and every reply. Thank you
  10. @ musicEMT-- I did take them all at the same college. The Fs arent factored into my GPA anymore since they only count the latest grades and I did eventually pass them with A's and B's. My problem is that they still show up on the transcript and that's why I got rejected from two 4 year programs so I'm trying for the 2 year programs now. I'm just discouraged and feel there may not be a point. @jp43-- Pre reqs are chem 1+2, a&p 1+2, micro, english, etc. I took them all and more. I even took biochemistry which i didnt need in an attempt to show that I am able to ace difficult courses. I even made it into the honors program. I would only be taking the core nursing classes. But those F's seem to be all they see. @Nikki Nicole--- No, it does not go by the points system. Maybe I should look into schools that do.
  11. The above comment is a reply to princessbride.@musicEMT yes, i took them all at the same college. They count the latest grade toward the gpa but the others still show up on the transcrpt.@jt43 the pre reqs include chem 1+2, nutrition, a&p 1+2, micro, englishes, statistics, college algebra, etc. Ive taken them all. I even took biochem and aced that but turns out i dont need it. I have mostly As and Bs. I even made it into the honors society but the Fs are still on the transcript. @ nikkinicole No, it does not go by a points system. Maybe i should look into schools that do. The very best of luck to u. Thank you all so very much for ur help. You are helping me through a very important and difficult point in my life.

  13. Hi all! I have completed all my pre reqs and i have a CST degree from community college of Philadelphia. I have failed chemistry and nutrition several times (more than 3 each). The reasons why dont matter now that i'm trying to move on. I have a 3.2 GPA and I haven't taken the TEAS yet. I'd really appreciate some honest advice on whether or not there's still hope of me getting into a 2 year nursing program. If anyone has a similar story, whether it ends in success or not, please share. Thanks in advance!

  15. Hello everyone, I am trying to get into a 2 year nursing program(roxborough, abington...etc) and although I have a 3.2 GPA and a CST degree from Community College of Philadelphia, I'm having extreme doubts on whether or not any programs will even consider me. I have taken and failed chemistry and nutrition several times (at least 3 each) and of course it shows on the transcript. I have not taken the TEAS yet. My question to you all is do I have a fighting chance of getting into a nursing program. I do have a decent GPA but I've been turned down by two 4 year colleges and now i'm trying the 2 year programs. Please be completely honest with me and if anyone can share their own experiences I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
