We would not be having this discussion if the goverment did what it should do and provide healthcare to all its citizens. Healthcare is a RIGHT not a LUXURY!!! And if some people are having the goverment pay for something they should be doing for everyone, so be it!!

Other than Spanish which trust me is like the a first language in dade county ( I live here) I would say Creole or French since most people who speak Creole speak French

I will make sure she reads this from all of you. Yes I I have told her that the bypass is a life altering thing and that you have to change the way you eat ir you will get sick. The more I read the posts the more I know she is not a good canidate, just because she would have to change her eating habbits. If she did that she can loose the weight instead of doing the bypass. Abouth the band I had totally forgotton about that. But if you get the band you can actually strech it by overeating also but I will let her know anyways. My friend is going to have loose skin because she has been overweight since middle school but not as heavy as the past few years. I want to help her loose the weight but it's frustrating when she says that she craving an icecream. Today we are going to the gym to sign up. I know that she has a lot of heart to exercise because I have excerxied with her before, her promblem is food and yes it might be pyschological. wow thats great for your mom. my friend has tried to diet but she gives into temtation to easily, which would not be good either if she did the bypass. well thanks for answering your mom took the intiative my friend wont weigh herself even though i told her she has to because then how does she know her goals? thanks again

Hi everyone I have a question about the gastric bypass since most of you have probably seen a pt that has done this before. My question is what do you think about the surgery. do you think it should be done? Please share any stories or thoughts that you might have weather good or bad. I have a friend that is considering the surgery but is scared out of her mind. She is about 100 or mor pounds overweight.

As I was reading the thread I was laughing because yes even though it is sometimes Hot as H--- I cant stand to be cold. This just shows me how people are so diffrent from one another. When I went to Minnesota I litterly stayed indoors the whole time it was about 20 degrees and freezing!! I love the hot weather i would not trade it for anything.

I really belive that south beach is the best beach I have ever been to. The person whos said that swimming in the golf of mexica is like a swimming in a murky pool is right on the money. And the beach in the keys isnt much better. But south beach has beutifull clear sandy beaches. And full of night life. If your into night life than you should check out riverwalk in Ft Lauderdale it's great lots of social people pubs bars nightclubs etc. If your into sightseeing than check out well actually I dont think there is sightseeing. Just beaches and nightlife. As for work I hear Baptist Hospital and it's affiliates are the best hospitals to work for in Miami. :)

Hi I am 22 yrs old and I have lived in Miami all my life. It's a fun city for the young and the young at heart. We really do have the best beaches. Work wise though I really dont know because I have not grauduated yet, but when I pick up the careerbuilder on Sundays it has about 2 pgs full of nusring positions with sign on bonus. When I went to Childrens Hospital the other day the rn there told me he started at 25 an hr. Which is pretty comparable to the salaries I have seen here in the threads. Back to the city itself its big I dont know about huge but then again this is all I have known. The city always has something to do. It has activities for anything you are into. Realestate is SUPER DUPPER EXPENSIVE!! In about two years when you are planning on heading down a 2 bedroom appt will probaly run you about 175,000 maybe more cuz right now some of them are that price. Renting is pretty expensive also a 2 bedroom appt will run about 850-1,000 a month nothing included. Well hope this helps any questions fell free to ask.

I didn't know the interview was the hardest part. I passed all the test's than they set up the interview. I could tell the program director wasnt blown away with me. She even told me that this school was " a lot more difficult than my previous school"(she told me this because I was a straight A student in my old school). I really thought that I wasnt getting in. She told me that she had to review everything and get back to me. The counselor told me that if I got accepted I would be told right there. So I thought that was it. I had passed all the test's and failed a interview!! I am usually such a likeable person:rolleyes: . Anyways my counselor really liked me and spoke to the director and told her how I just had a baby 3 weeks ago (then) and I guess the director toke that into consideration as something good and called me a week later that I was in. She wasnt thrilled though I can tell. She even asked me again what I was going to do with my full time job. But I am so happy I start in May as for her I am going to make sure to get great grades to rub it in her face. I can be mom, work, and go to school

i am a nursing student in florida and i would like to join a union hospital. i dont think any exsist though. the reason i would like to join a union hospital is because here in florida expeacilly here in miami things are bad. almost all jobs dont have medical insurance (not nursing jobs they do) everyone is underpaid and overworked. thats the reason i want to join a union hospital. because even though the nurse's here get paid well (better than other proffesions in miami) and have benefits i have a pretty good hunch that it is not as well as in any other state (or city).
