  1. Wow, this is scary. I have been looking for a new jib and this makes me think I should just hold on to my current one. I have a 34 bed emergency department. If we are full staffed during our peak times we will have 17 nurses and 7 techs, if we are lucky a few NAs. We use hospital patient escort to transport patients to units and ct, X-ray etc. the average nurse to pt ratio is 1:3 but several are only 1:2 and then multiple float nurses. If we are really busy (either a surge in pts, or census over 180-200) we just page out for any rn that wants to come in to come in.
  2. I have an interview for Critical care!
  3. Awesome Gastro! I am interviewing for the Adult Critical Care Track. I had a few friends also apply from Mn and I was the only one that got an interview. My professors have suggested that if you got an interview, you already have beaten out a lot of candidates! Like you, I would look forward to a new city and thus a new challenge. What track are you interviewing for?
  4. Hey Guys- I was just curious if anyone has had experience with VUMC Nurse Residency Program? I am going down to interview this month. I am from Minnesota so I am not very familiar with the area or the hospital, other than it being a very nice hospital. From what I have seen online, it looks pretty impressive. Is anyone familiar with their program or the hospital in general? I am also worried about moving so far away and not knowing anyone there...but it seems like maybe a lot of the Nurse Residents are in the same boat? Any thoughts you have about the program or hospital would be appreciated! Thanks.
