For a while now I've noticed a pattern; no matter where I work nursing has changed for the worse. I've talked to those in the field for far longer than me and they all say the same....it's everywhere! I was beginning to think it was me, maybe this field isn't for me. I've been working for about 4 plus years and I am 26. I grew up in the world of health careers ; my mother is FDNY EMT Lieutenant... ever since I was 4 I knew I wanted to be a nurse. Next semester I am journeying back towards my RN.. my real dream is nurse practitioner where maybe I can open up my own practice with like minded individuals to take back nursing/ healthcare to the core of human. Not pumping people with unnecessary medications and hanging them dry to milk every penny. I know nothing else besides healthcare! This is my passion ! It's so hard to stick around with jobs I am unhappy with but I realize now...I don't think i'll be happy anytime soon, so I must stick it out. Also for the vets: to make extra money in this field what are some suggestions? At my new job I have taken a $500 + paycut biweekly . I never ever wanted money to get in the way of my passion but lately; with being a homeowner now things are getting tight. Thanks for your ears and eyes

You are so right. That analogy is perfect. Tomorrow is the big day! It also helped to make a friend in my group. I know that if I have any questions or need any help she will be there. Thanks for that boost of confidence:nurse:
