As we are heading into our RSV season, I am interested in knowing what others are having parents who are staying with their child do. Are they required to gown, glove, and mask at all times? Our policy says they do, our peds think this is slightly unreasonable. How do you practice? Thanks:rolleyes:

LPNs in the rest of the hospital take a patient assignment under the direction of or paired up with an RN. They can do some IVs on adults, but our state does not allow them to start or maintain IVs on patients under 18.

I am a new manager of a pediatric unit that in the passt has not had LPNs. If you have LPNs on your unit, how are they utilized and is there specific things they cannot do with the pediatric population. I cannot find any research either way. Thanks
