  1. So I just found out today I'm Prego! I as about to meet with someone tomorrow to discuss which route in school . I was ready to quit my job or at least work part time but that is out of the question now since we need to go into saving mode. Do you guys think its worth while to start slow? I was thinking of doing the CNA and LPN this year and maybe part time on my prerequisites then after the baby is born go full throttle on RNA. Any advice guys?
  2. I have another apointment with a advisor tomorrow so I will see how long exactly it is for the process at the community college. This whole time I have not even began to think ,How the heck am I going to pay for this?
  3. This is my worry to math was my weakest subject and I feel like will be my downfall but like my husband says when you apply yourself" you can do and learn anything". Then he tells me "If I have to get a second job on the weekends to get you a tutor we will" .However back on topic . I have another thread asking about schools and the different routes. One of the routes is become a Cna then do the LPN then the associates for nurse it would take longer but at least gradually if it's something you can not handle you can cut early instead of committing to a 4 year program. (Sorry about grammar on my little phone)
  4. The lady at the private school says to save a lot of money I can take some of the classes at the CC then transfer those credits to the private.I'm scared guys 60,000 is a huge debt lol
  5. Yea her and her stubborn ways. I think she is more upset because we were about to buy our first home this year with the money we saved the last 2 years but now with me going back to school my in laws have offered us to move in with them so they can help with my daughter 7. We would just pay the utilities that would save us my income alone. (sry about the grammar on my little phone)
  6. NMC Graduation Rates are the fifth out of 21 in the State for 4 year, and NUMBER ONE for 5 and 6 year graduation rates (The Educations Trust, 2010)NCLEX-RN Board Pass Rates are 90%!My ultimate goal is to work in pediatric.I know I will have to do my dues everywhere else but that's where I would want to end up. I appreciate the help here family and friends are not that encouraging they think at 28 I'm too old and I should be having more kids so that my daughter has siblings.
  7. The highest education I have is highschool.
  8. Hello I decided to go into the career field to become a RN and a little baffled about how to start. I'm working full time at Aflac tight now making $17.00 a hour and can not stand what I do. I have always wanted to become a nurse and after discussing it the last month with my husband he thinks we can handle me working very limited part time or no work at all. I visited a private college Methodist that charges $65,000 to go from nothing to BSN. I have been told that is expensive for this field. My other option is something a friend recommended which is go to community college to get a associates as a RN then find a job that will pay for schooling to a BSN. My community college wants me to get a CNA certificate( 3 months )then do pre classes (3quarters) then do a LPN TO Associates RN (2 years).I feel like this route would take longer then going straight for BSN. Also will jobs look down on it if its from a community college vs a private school?
