I know my option doesn't make since but a few recruiters told me that 1. If I sign on now, I will have to pass the physical fitness test (not possible right now) 2. If I sign on now, I will not be a nurse, I will be a soldier. It will take some time to make the switch. 3. The easiest route would be to take ROTC classes during school. I took one semester, but was not able to do any others because of my class schedule. I talked to someone from the VA, they do hire new graduates and have a special program for new graduates. Also, when working in the VA as a nurse, I do not need a Georgia nursing license. I just need an active one in any state.

I thought this was true because the military tends to have the same teaching when it comes to that. Plus I would have an unrestricted license. I seen that they were the top two. I think I will do that, thanks!

I am currently a nursing student. I graduate in May and want to move to Georgia to work for a VA hospital. Can anyone give me information about the VA hospitals in Decatur and Augusta? I am not sure which one I want to work at. I also want to become an army nurse and go back to school to become a CRNA.

I am graduating from a BSN program in May. I would like to work in Georgia in a VA hospital, become an army nurse and go for my CRNA. I want to work in the ICU for experience. Can anyone compare the VA hospitals in Decatur and Augusta? How are the ICUs? And are military CRNA programs better, the same or worse than regular CRNA programs?

I plan on going to African at the end of this year to donate medical supplies/books and teach the nurses how to assess vital signs. I plan on doing something like this often.

I am graduating in May and want to work in a CCU setting. It is nice to hear that new grads can work in these areas. I wasn't sure if they would want experience or not.

You should stay in nursing. I am a senior nursing student in my last semester. It does seem that in clinical, all you do is give baths. But nurses have to be able to do what a CNA and LPN can do. CNA is considered basic. You will build upon those basics. With that being said, you can specialized in numerous things within nursing. And advanced degree is always an option. I would like to be a CRNA, this is a masters program. There are Forensic nurses, although the job demand is not that high. This is also a masters program. Nurses also can work in the laboratory, for research trials and in pharmaceuticals. So the best get is an advanced degree. You can do alot with a bachelors though so you should check into what type of nursing you want to go into.
