  1. Transitioning from case management to the OR

    I have a passion for the OR and always knew that this is the field I wanted to specialize in after I finished nursing school. However, after 6 months of searching with no opportunities I took a case management position in a homecare agency. After working there for a year I was laid off due to company downsizing. I have tried to find an OR position in the NYC area but have not been successful. I have a BA and an ADN in nursing. Most OR residency programs will not consider a candidate without their BSN. Does anyone have any advice on how to get "your foot in the door?" Thank you in advance.
