Advise me about becoming a nurse in CA
Hi Laita, I am trying to endorse my license to CA. I am in a situation and I think you might be able to help me figure this out. They sent me a letter that has "A copy of your clinical rotation schedule, registration forms and class schedule" listed as requirement. Did you have to send anything like that? did your school send it? what exactly are they? registration forms? Any information is appreciated. Thank you.

Study tips, advice, encouragement. Help please!
Hi There, Here's my story: it took me 3+ months to finish reading Saunders cover to cover (excluding pharma). Well that explains I was not serious about the test/study, then I thought it was about time i schedule my test, because that would be the only way to get me on track! so scheduled test and then studied like crazy for a month (15 hrs a day), completed Saunders second time, did questions fron kaplan question trainer (1-7) from internet, did questions from NCSBN question bank (online review $50) and completed 50% of PDA, did 200-300 questions from NCLEX 3500!! I did not pay much attention to pharma, just read the most imp drug, classificationm suffix/prefix and most imp/adverse side effect! I had no time to complete all those qustions from the resources I had in 1 month! so took the test after 1 month and thankfully I passed. what I think is you must have a solid content base in order to tackle the questions in the test, If you don't have, reading Saunders twice would certainly help you with that and then practice and practice as much qustions as you can! study hard and your hard work would certainly pay off. Best wishes to you :)

Need ur best advice .. NCSBN or Kaplan?
links for kaplan question trainers are all over internet! I did not take Kaplan review, did question trainers from internet! I paid for NCSBN review just to make sure I practice as different styled questions as possible. I can't say if it was helpful or not because questions that appeared on the NCLEX were quite different from NCSBN or Kaplan or 3500 or saunders! so I would suggest practice questions from as different sources as you can! And if you are not confident about the content (I was not) read Saunders twice! :)

Clinical Hours for Nepal Graduates
Actually I had the similar situation while CGFNS was evaluating my credential. In my case CGFNS sent a letter to my nursing school stating the problem and I also called my school and told them about what was needed! then they sent the listing of theory and clinical hrs of each subject from syllabus. At first they had sent transcripts where only marks were listed so I had to go through this process again! hope it helps! Best wishes for the registration process! :)

Any longer reviews out there? Study buddy? Other advice?
hi WorldTravelingYogi do not panic! going to a good school is certainly a good thing but it doesn't determine how you will do in NCLEX! i am saying this coz I am a foreign graduate, we studied the same textbook as you did but other than that everything was different...even our test were subjective type!!! why I am saying this all is because hard work is the key to success.....I graduated 2 yrs back...studied and studied for this test for 2months and I took my NCLEX-RN yesterday, stopped at 75 and today found out I passed in my 1st attempt!! do what you can and need to do from your side...rest leave it to god! If I can do...you can too! best of luck,,,,write to me if you need any help/tips with studying! and best wishes! :)

Resume Help--Do I include the research I did as a partial fulfillment of BSN??
Dear NRSKarenRN, Thanks a lot for your input and this information makes me think again. I am sitting here searching and researching about how to make, what to include/exclude in resume. here's one more thing that is confusing me, should I include any projects I have done. For example, I translated a public education booklet on Neuroscience in my native language for International Brain Research Organization in 2011. Do I include that project? Actually CV is needed to apply for a job in my country so making a resume is confusing me a lot!! thank you so much for your time and input in advance. :) nirj

Resume Help--Do I include the research I did as a partial fulfillment of BSN??
Dear All I need your help. I am a foreign grad planning to take NCLEX in few weeks. So here I am trying to make my professional resume and what I am concerned about is weather I should include the research I did as a patial fulfillment of BSN curriculum or not? I don't see any resume including this part here on allnurses and other samples but it is a kind of norm to include research paper(performed during BSN) in resume in my country. so all confused now. Any idea or suggestion is appreciated! thank you so much for your time and input in advance! :) nirj

which US state offers the"easiest"or lesser application reqs for NCLEX exam
Hi Yanee88, CGFNS verification doesnot mean you have to take exam. There are different types of CGFNS services and which one fits you depends on which state you are applying in. Only CP, Certification Program needs you to take CGFNS exam. CVS is only for New York and most of state BON require CES. Also CGFNS has introduced Expedited Review Service if you pay for this service you will get your report faster!CGFNS International Here is the list of state BON and their requirement regarding CGFNS services. CGFNS International you can check what CGFNS service is required by the state you are planning to apply. I have applied from Kansas BON so I can tell you about it's requirements; it requires CES (professional report), the need to take TOEFL is waived if you belong to a English speaking nation or your nursing school and textbooks were in English, and you need to submit fingerprint card for background check, then application and fee! that's it! so the main evaluation will be done by CGFNS. I hope it helped a little. Best wishes for everything! :)

Plz suggest this new foreign grad for her first job hunt!
Hi this is a foreign grad in US. I am going to take NCLEX-RN in few months time. At this time I m concerned about getting my first job than ever. I check this forum regularly and new grads talking about not getting a job despite their effort and time makes me wonder if i m ever getting a job. Being a foreign grad and English being my second language, I see my chances are slim. But I m optimistic about it. I believe in myself. I know I need to work on it, put extra effort, make myself flexible and with some guidance from this great nursing community I will get there one day. so Dear registered nurses (foreign grad and native) this is one humble request to all of you please give this thread your precious time( you have already given by reading up to this line :) please continue) and please give some advice about what specific a foreign grad should do, how she needs to prepare herself for her first job hunt and what are your experiences? I am willing to give my best and do whatever it takes to land on my first RN job in US. Me and other like me will be thankful for your valuable suggestions. Thank you. :)

Is Msc Nursing/MPH degree from India Valid in US?
This is important. My friend needs to make a career choice. The matter is,my friend has completed her 4 yr Bsc Nursing and she is thinking to get a masters degree from India(Msc Nursing or MPH) but she is also thinking about moving to US in few years time. So, her question is if she gets a master degree(Msc nursing or MPH) from India will that degree be valid in US? Will she be able to get a job that matches her qualification? What pre-requisites or application/registration process she will need to go through? any suggestions or guidance will be greatly appreciated. Please help us with this. Thank you in advance. :)

NCLEX-RN "If I can do it so can you''
Congratulations Macann!!! :) I was actually searching for some success stories of foreign graduates. Then I came to this thread. As I have heard that pass percentage of foreign graduates at first attempt is too low, I m scared to death. Your story is convincing. I too believe in myself, lets see how things go when I actually get to sit there and solve those Qs. Thanks and congrats once again! :)

CGFNS didn't show my Geriatric Clinical Hours. What to do?
In which state did you apply? I m applying from Kansas BON and am quite sure that my nursing school hasn't listed the geriatric hours so totally stressed out what the CES report would likely be. also the thing you said that CES report said you hv met all requirement has calmed me a little.please inform what you did next! Thanks. :)
