Can I find a Nursing Director's number?
Sorry about seeming negative but the Liar comment was a joke. I will look into local chapters of organizations to see what's available to me. I also might volunteer at a hospital I've applied to. Been wanting to do that anyway, but schedule has been hectic. I have also applied to many med/surg and tele positions just to get my foot in the door but no luck yet. Essentially every position right now says 'BSN Preferred'. Have only had 1 phone interview so far and did not get past that. Updated my resume to show anticipated graduation date of the RN-BSN. I'll try calling a few tomorrow to see if I can get through to the DON. Thanks for the help!

Can I find a Nursing Director's number?
So I'm a new grad ADN nurse as of May 2017. Having a reallll hard time even landing an interview. I am enrolled in an RN-BSN starting November and just accepted a part-time position at a local nursing home but realllllly want to be in a hospital, specifically NICU, PICU, Peds. I don't know being a male is something I should state? But I am. And I was told that would make this easier. Liars. Anyway! I have read about a lot of success from people on this site after they cold-called the DON to introduce themselves. However, I can't find numbers for directors anywhere so I wanted to see if anyone knows where I should be looking.

do a lot of research on every single one and figure which one you would enjoy most as a career. for me, i originally thought acute care but i would like to get into oncology later in my career. my mom is a survivor of breast cancer so i decided the women's health specialty would be a great starting point, considering how treatment for breast cancer has advanced over the years. i shadowed an acute care np at a local hospital and was able to speak at length with a women's health np during a patient visit. both experiences gave great insight into the actual duties of the position and they were able to answer any questions i had.

i will actually be done with my bachelor's by september and i am also working on my a&p pre-requisite at the moment. i am hoping to be accepted for 2013! the one thing i believe they stressed was 'life experience'. i would suggest getting some volunteer experience when you can. i feel like i am a little out of my league as well but i am hoping for the best!

Hello everyone! I am applying to this program for Spring 2013, currently undecided on specialty. What specialty is everyone looking at? What's the reason you're applying to this program and want to become an NP in general?
