Much much congrats on all of your success!!!! You have given me sooooo much hope. I finally have been accepted into nursing school starting jan 2013. Today I received the bad news that I was denied student liability insurance. Without it I cannot continue in the program. My circumstances are very similar! Did you have problems with liability insurance? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. In the process of writing a reconsideration letter now. My 2nd and final DUI was 3 1/2 yrs ago and the first was 8 yrs ago. not sure if its the time frame that's hurting me? I have talked with my school and they are saying one DUI not that bad but two your almost barred from BON. Also clinical sights thru out school may also deny my advancement. Please let me know if you ran into any of these situations and if so some advice:) or if you haven't had any of these problems what would you do in my situations? Again, HUGE congrats to you! Does anyone know if NSO will deny student nurse liability insurance if I was convicted of a DUI in 2009?

Just thought of another question. Did you have a hard time getting accepted into a nursing program? If so, what were you required to do to get accepted?

I have 2 DUI's 2003,2008. I am extremely concerned about getting approval from BON.I currently live in VA. Anyone have any advice on how to approach BON with this? As you all know Nursing is one of the hardest studies one can do. I hope they will take into consideration all of the hard work I have put into bettering my life and pursuing my dreams. I am also a straignt A student:) Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thx!

Oh my gosh edchunt, you have given me much hope!!! I am currently working toward applying to an RN program. I have been convicted of 2 DUI's. Could you tell me how and what you had to do to convince BON to give you a chance? I have heard different stories most of which are not in my favor. I currently live in Va, I want this sooo bad I would be willing to move! Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!! Congrats to you for making it....you have given me some hope:)
