  1. I am curious of this as well. I am about 1/4 of the way through an LPN program and very interested in Psych. Would like to work in psych as an LPN before completing an RN program. Any input would be great. I live in Kentucky right now, but am planning on moving in the next few years.
  2. I had a really hard time finding the Brachial pulse as well. I found that, as corny as it may sound, I got better with practice. The brachial pulse is located in the Anticubital space on the side closest to the body or pinky side of the arm. I know that to find mine, my arm had to be at heart level and completely open. I hope that helps
  3. I just did these check offs and about had a nervous breakdown, so you are not alone in thinking this is not so easy. On the pulse: Don't wait until the second hand moves. When you are starting (on that second) start with zero. We had to do the 2 step blood pressure. If this is what you are doing, make sure that in the 1st step you are stopping the brachial pulse before you deflate. And add 30 mmHG to your start on the 2nd step. The systolic pressure should not come as fast that way. Also, make sure you are deflating at about 2 mmHg per second. I know it seems slow, but it does make a difference. If you are doing the BP in one step, pumping up the cuff and deflating, You may not be pumping up far enough to start. I hope that helps. You will do great.
  4. Are all LPN students planning to bridge to RN. I am a 1st quarter LPN student and everyone keeps talking about "when you are in the RN program". I am not planning to bridge and when I tell people that they look at me like I have grown a third eye. This is from students and instructors alike. Am I crazy for not wanting to be an RN?
