NYU BSN Fall 2012
@ kt80 & clam15143, Thank you so much for the response! I guess if accepted, I won't be able to attend:crying2: Heck, I don't even know if I'm accepted or not. Given my circumstances, I'd actually feel better being rejected. Call me crazy, I know.

NYU BSN Fall 2012
Does anyone here know if admission can be deferred? ANYONE? Thanks.

2.764 gpa with a B.S degree, whats my chances of getting into any nursing programs
You can do it! I am kinda in the same boat, but I just started a corporate job. I love what I do (it's a health care company where the majority of employees are...NURSES!), but a few years from now, I may want to just follow my old dreams and do nursing. For how long did you have your corporate job?

NYU BSN Fall 2012
It seems that the majority of people who received acceptances were chose the accelerated path. Am I right in thinking this? I applied early (Feb. 2) and still haven't heard anything yet (I applied as a transfer, regular BSN). When I called today, I was told that decisions could be mailed out as late as mid june! Also, would I be able to defer admission if accepted? I am working and need to pay the bills, but if I save up for another year, I will be good to go. NYU is super expensive, as all of you know. Fingers crossed ! Congratulations on all those who got accepted! Good luck to those that are still eagerly waiting for an answer:up:

NYU College of Nursing as a Transfer
aug 16, '10 by emmafox13hello,i'm going to hunter college right now for pre-nursing. i'll be finished with all my pre-reqs in two years when i'll hopefully be going to hunter-bellevue school of nursing. however after reading reviews about how hard it is to get in i really want to keep my options open so i was wondering if i finish all my pre-reqs at hunter college when i apply to their school of nursing can i also apply to nyu college of nursing? and then go to nyu for my last two years. i know some schools make you do the pre-reqs at their school, hopefully not with nyu! any other info on nyu's college of nursing would be greatly appreciated. (how hard it is to get in, what they look at (grades, nursing exams, volunteer work, letters of recomendation)) thanks for any info, emma hey emma, i am also applying as a transfer for fall 2012 admissions, but nyu. were you able to finish your pre-reqs? where are you applying to now (if you haven't done so already). good luck with everything and please keep us posted

SUNY Brockport Traditional BSN FALL 2012
I applied to Pace, LIU, Mount Sain't Vincent, and NYU (the private institutions). Then the CUNY's: Hunter, Lehman, and York. One of my top choices was Stonybrook, but I didn't get all my paperwork on time :-( I know so many great nurses that graduated from it's nursing school. I applied to all by February 2, 2012. So hopefully, I will hear back soon. My GPA for my pre-reqs is a 3.3 right now. My ultrasound school GPA (I graduated last summer) was 2.7 :-( So not competive. But my personal statement and two recommendations are pretty stellar. Here's hoping!

NYU BSN Fall 2012
How is that coming along, sarolany? Would you be applying for priority deadline? When do you think we will hear back? Good luck!

I love the posts from pre-nursing students waiting to get their Acceptance letters!
I actually sent out all of my applications on Feb 2 (NYU, LIU, PACE, and Mount Saint Vincent) and applied as a transfer student for Fall 2012. I don't have a lot of information on what my chances are of getting in as a transfer, but I can't wait to hear back soon!! I honestly don't think I have a good chance at getting in. I don't have a Bachelor's degree, am an ultrasound school graduate (GPA from ultrasound school is 2.7) and am taking pre-reqs at BMCC (where my gpa is a 3.3). However, I have a pretty great personal statement, two good recommendations, and am volunteering at a top hospital in Manhattan in the Nursing unit. So hopefully, my soft skills will be enough. Nursing2102, congratulations on your acceptance letter!!! Stories like you give me a little bit of hope. I will keep you posted on my process. I wonder how soon I will hear back... Again, so happy for you!!!! Good luck to everyone here :-)

SUNY Brockport Traditional BSN FALL 2012
Hey, good luck!! I wanted to apply to the traditional BSN program as well (as a transfer, since I do not have a bachelors and am an ultrasound school graduate), but didn't get all my paper work done in time. Maybe next year if I don't have the best of luck with my other nursing school choices. Let us know how you did!

NYU Transfers Fall 2012
Hi Samantha, I already applied to NYU Nursing (on Feb. 2 to be exact) and am wondering when I am going to hear from them. I don't have a Bachelor's degree and am actually an ultrasound school graduate (I graduated last summer). I volunteer two days a week at a major hospital in the nursing department and am missing only 2 or 3 pre-reqs. I am currently enrolled in BMCC taking a couple of liberal arts courses that can be applied to my credits. To be honest, I am a nervous wreck bc my GPA at BMCC is only a 3.3, while my ultrasound school gpa was a 2.7. I have a great personal statement and recommendations. Hopefully I will hear back soon!! I think it's harder for transfers to get in for some reason. Good luck to you :-) Keep us posted. I will do the same.

NYU Traditional Transfers Fall 2010
Hey, I know this is a very late response, but I, too, am applying as a traditional transfer. I submitted my application February 2, 2012. The only thing I need is another recommendation, and then I am set. I am taking a few pre-reqs at BMCC and my gpa there is a 3.3. I also graduated from a ultrasound program last in 2011 but my GPA there was a 2.7 :-( Terrible, I know. What do you think my chances are, esp. since I applied so early???? I will keep everyone posted on my progress. Any other responses are welcome! Good luck to everyone!

NYU BSN Fall 2012
Hey there!!! I actually just submitted my completed application Feb 2. I'm a little worried though: I am taking some pre-reqs at BMCC and my gpa there is a 3.3. I also graduated from a diagnostic sonography program in 2011 with a 2.7 gpa:cry: So yeah, those numbers are not impressive at all. I know that I have a great personal statement and 6 months clinical experience due to my sonography program. I also volunteer at NYP nursing department. So maybe I have a chance?? I know that that deadline for transfers is April 1, 2012. Hopefully not too many seats have filled up by the time I submitted my app. I wonder when I will hear back? I will keep you posted, though. Best of luck!!!! Maybe I will be seeing you this fall :-)
